Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Reveals September 8 Beta Patch Notes

Key Takeaways

  • Treyarch has released another Black Ops 6 beta update on September 8.
  • The third patch since the game entered open beta introduces a new map, Stakeout, as well as some additional modes.
  • The update also marks the start of a double XP event that will run in parallel with the ongoing double Weapon XP promo.

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that this latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta update has me quite excited! The addition of Stakeout map and Kill Confirmed mode to the Face Off modes is definitely a welcome change. And let’s not forget about the double XP event that Treyarch has graced us with, making those grinding sessions a little less grueling.

I’m thrilled to share that on September 8, Treyarch released an update for the Call of Duty: Black Oops 6 beta. It feels like this could be the last patch before we wrap up the beta testing.

From September 1 to September 4, an early access beta for the upcoming title in the popular shooter series, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6”, was made available. The open beta for this game officially started on September 6. Throughout both testing phases, Treyarch has been continuously refining and improving the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Gets Third Open Beta Update

On September 8, the developer released another update for the beta version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, marking their third patch since September 6. One of the main features in this latest release is a new map called Stakeout, which can be found in the Gunfight Strike playlist. Additionally, Gunfight can now be played on the previously introduced Gala map as well.

Black Ops 6 Open Beta Is Concluding With Double XP Event

The recent update for Black Ops 6 now includes the mode “Kill Confirmed” in its Face Off options, a feature that was initially unveiled during the beta’s early access phase on September 2. With this update, we’ve also started a double XP event that began at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 7pm CET. Since the open beta ends on September 9, it seems likely that this XP event will continue until then, though Treyarch hasn’t yet confirmed this definitively. Similarly, the double Weapon XP event, which began on September 7, is still ongoing as of the next day.

Although the Black Ops 6 open beta offers some rewards to its participants, one’s level and weapon progression will not carry over to the full game. These double XP events that are currently running in parallel are hence exclusively geared toward speeding up the game’s progression curve for testing purposes rather than offering players meaningful opportunities for cost-effective grinding. One final change introduced with the September 8 update concerns server-side stability, which Treyarch said has been improved, albeit without providing any further details on the matter.

The highly anticipated game Black Ops 6 is set to debut on PC and the last two generations of non-Nintendo consoles on October 25th. This date also marks its arrival on Xbox Game Pass, making it the first Call of Duty installment to join Microsoft’s subscription service from day one. To accommodate this launch, Microsoft has made some adjustments to their tiers, meaning subscribers will now need to pay for either PC Game Pass or XGP Ultimate to maintain access to day-one releases.
