Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Was The Best-Selling Game Of 2024

2024’s top-selling video game within U.S. borders was none other than Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, as reported by industry expert Mat Piscatella on January 23rd.

Activision’s Black Ops 6 dethroned EA Sports College Football 25 as the leading sports game since its December release, managing to do so in less than three months following its own launch at the end of October.

2024’s College Football rankings saw a shift with College Football 25 climbing to second place, while Helldivers 2 maintained its position at third. Completing the top five for the year are Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero and NBA 2K25.

In addition to Madden NFL 25, EA Sports FC 25, WWE 2K24, MLB: The Show 24, and NBA 2K24, there were four other sports games further down the list. Interestingly, seven of the top 20 best-selling games in that year hadn’t actually been released in 2024. Even games like Minecraft and Grand Theft Auto, which are over a decade old, still consistently rank among the top 20 in the U.S. sales chart.
