Call of Duty: Black Ops 6s Citadelle Des Morts is Just What Zombies Needed

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6s Citadelle Des Morts is Just What Zombies Needed

As a long-time fanatic of the Call of Duty franchise and particularly the Zombies mode, I’m positively thrilled about the upcoming Season 1 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6! The roadmap they’ve unveiled is nothing short of breathtaking, promising fresh content that’s reminiscent of the golden days of Zombies.

The eagerly awaited Season 1 for Call of Duty: Black Ops VI has been unveiled, boasting one of the most remarkable post-release plans in the series’ history. This season promises the introduction of five fresh multiplayer maps and a festive version of Nuketown to Call of Duty: Black Ops VI, along with seven new weapons and several new Operators. Additionally, Call of Duty: Warzone is poised for a new Resurgence map and a significant gameplay revamp, incorporating Black Ops VI-exclusive features like Omnimovement into the battle royale.

In contrast to previous iterations where the Zombies mode was often overlooked in subsequent seasons after launch, the Zombies mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is expected to be a major focus during Season 1. This upcoming season will introduce a fresh round-based map for the Zombies mode, which has sparked excitement among fans who have long desired such an experience. If this new map lives up to expectations, it could signal a promising start for Black Ops 6.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Citadelle Des Morts Is a Good Sign for Zombies’ Future

Fans Were Cautiously Optimistic Following Terminus and Liberty Falls’ Release

Prior to its release, there was much anticipation surrounding “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6,” with marketing emphasizing the comeback of traditional Zombies gameplay. However, some fans were a tad apprehensive due to past experiences. Particularly, they expressed doubts about the Liberty Falls map. When Liberty Falls was unveiled in full at the Call of Duty NEXT event, it drew criticism for resembling yet another open-ended map like those found in “Modern Warfare 3” or “Cold War’s” Outbreak mode.

It’s great news that, following the release of the game, many fans have grown fond of Liberty Falls. Although it may not possess the ambiance of some of its forerunners, Liberty Falls seems to embody the essence of a classic Call of Duty Zombies map in numerous aspects, especially with its intricately linked level design and abundance of hidden references being a refreshing throwback. Terminus, on the other hand, is held in even greater esteem due to its atmospheric qualities that Liberty Falls lacks, while also presenting a tougher challenge with its confined layout.

Ultimately, the Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 serves as a much-appreciated comeback for fans who felt let down by Modern Warfare 3’s open-world Zombies experiment. While Terminus and Liberty Falls may not be flawless, they demonstrate that Treyarch hasn’t lost its touch with this mode, and most crucially, they understand what fans are hoping for in the future.

Citadelle Des Morts Proves Treyarch Is Heading In The Right Direction With Zombies

Following the unveiling of the Season 1 plan for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, it’s more evident than ever that Treyarch understands the desires of the game’s Zombies mode enthusiasts. In the course of Season 1, Black Oops 6 is slated to incorporate a fresh Zombies map titled ‘Citadelle des Morts.’ As suggested by the released image and Treyarch’s formal description, the new Zombies map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Citadelle des Morts, will transport Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey to a deserted European medieval castle and village.

As a diehard Call of Duty Zombies fan, it feels like Citadelle des Morts has nailed down everything we’ve been craving for. With its castle setting, it’s got that nostalgic feel reminiscent of Der Eisendrache from Black Ops 3 – often hailed as one of the greatest CoD Zombies maps ever made. Plus, seeing the Terminus crew’s storyline continue is a treat, complete with fresh voice lines and Easter eggs that will undoubtedly test our detective skills!

In Black Ops 6 Zombies, Citadelle des Morts plans to introduce a fresh enemy type, and during Season 1, expect three new Gobblegums, a novel support weapon, a new Perk-a-Cola, 18 new Augments, and as-yet-undisclosed Wonder Weapons. If Treyarch maintains the pace of creating such engaging Zombies content for each season, Black Ops 6 could potentially host some of the finest Zombies content in the series’ entirety.
