Activision, the publisher of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, has announced a way for fans to get into the game’s beta early. By watching just one hour of the COD Next event on Twitch, players can unlock access to the beta, which starts October 5th. While those who pre-ordered the game can begin playing on October 2nd, this new method offers another opportunity to try the game before its official release.
The open beta for the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Some fans were surprised that the game will also be released on older PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, but developer Treyarch Studios explained that many players are still using these 12-year-old systems and they want to make the game accessible to as many people as possible.

Activision is letting *Call of Duty* fans try *Black Ops 7* early with a beta code, and you don’t need to pre-order the game to get one! They announced on Twitter that watching just one hour of their annual COD Next event on September 30th will earn you access. While the open beta starts October 5th, if you want to play beginning October 2nd, you’ll need a code – and now you can get one simply by watching the Twitch stream, in addition to pre-ordering.
Activision has been offering several ways for fans to get early access to the *Black Ops 7* beta. Just recently, they partnered with Xfinity in the US. Xfinity Rewards members can claim a code online for early beta access, meaning they don’t need to pre-order the game to play it early.
If you don’t have access to Xfinity or aren’t in the US, the returning COD Next event is your best bet for getting an early access code. It’s happening on September 30th and will feature the first details and reveals for the new *Call of Duty: Black Ops 7* game. Expect news about *Call of Duty: Warzone*, the free-to-play battle royale, *Call of Duty Mobile*, and other titles too.
