Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Releases Season 6 Update

Key Takeaways

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Season 6 includes The Haunting event with new content like maps, operators, and game modes.
  • The update features tweaks to gameplay mechanics, with added modes like Infected, Mutation, and Zombie Royale.
  • Some weapons have been balanced, including nerfs to the STG44 assault rifle, Superi 46, and Static-HV submachine guns.

As a seasoned Call of Duty player with countless hours under my belt, I must say that the latest updates have brought some refreshing changes to the gameplay dynamics. The increased damage range and multipliers for certain weapons like Tempus Torrent and LM-S have certainly added an exciting edge to close-quarters combat.

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled about the massive Season 6 update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3! This update brings in fresh maps, operators, and game modes, along with the traditional Haunting event. It seems like this is Sledgehammer’s grand farewell as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 approaches. Yet, even though Season 6 marks the end for Modern Warfare 3, it’s going out in style with a plethora of new content that players can’t wait to explore!

In Season 6 of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3”, fans can look forward to revisiting The Haunting, a spooky Halloween event filled with exciting new content. As Activision has already shared sneak peeks of the upcoming features, players might have caught glimpses of popular characters making their entrance into the “Call of Duty” world. Among these are Michael Myers from the famous Halloween franchise, who is included in the Season 6 battle pass, along with Slamfire and a hooded version of Farah. For those willing to spend a bit extra, Activision has introduced new bundles featuring characters from “The Walking Dead”, specifically Daryl Dixon, as well as Sam from “Trick r Treat”, Art the Clown from “Terrifier”, and Halloween-inspired versions of Makarov and Valeria based on “Smile 2”.

Absolutely, Season 6 of Modern Warfare 3 offers a lot to explore too. Among the new maps are Drive Thru and Mad Cow, but the buzz is all about the addition of five variations of Shipment. During The Haunting, you’ll find several fresh and returning game modes such as Infected, Mutation, Arcade, and Hordepoint. For Warzone, there’s a new Limited Time Mode called Purgatory which features an objective-based activity on the Hellspawn map. And for veteran Call of Duty players, the annual Zombie Royale mode is back again this season.

From a gameplay perspective, Sledgehammer has announced various fixes and tweaks across both Multiplayer and Zombies, with the Infected game mode seeing a wide range of improvements. Weapons have also seen a balancing pass with one of Call of Duty‘s best forming weapons in the STG44 assault rifle getting nerfed so it can no longer get a 3-shot kill. The Superi 46 and Static-HV submachine guns have also seen nerfs, while many Modern Warfare 2 carryover weapons have seen their stats buffed slightly.

Although the upcoming season holds great enthusiasm for numerous gamers, it’s important to note a minor drawback: some content from Modern Warfare 3 won’t transition smoothly to Black Ops 6. With the next Call of Duty game fast approaching, some players are feeling disheartened due to Activision’s decision not to transfer XP tokens to Black Ops 6 and also restricting current skins from being used in multiplayer. The topic of the five new Shipment map variations launching during Season 6 has sparked a lot of conversation, with many players seeming weary of the small map reappearing in different versions.

New Operators

Sam (SpecGru)

From the outside, Sam may appear to be just another child out celebrating Halloween, but don’t let that fool you. Beneath his spooky costume lies a much darker character. The burlap sack covering his face hides a truly menacing visage. Though his pumpkin lollipop and chocolate candy bar may look appealing, when in Sam’s hands, they transform into lethal tools.

As a dedicated enthusiast, I step into the roles of judge, jury, and enforcer during Halloween, ensuring everyone follows the customs and traditions. So, if I knock on your door this spooky night, make sure you’re dressed up and prepared with a generous helping of treats—or else, beware! You might find yourself experiencing an unforgettable trick.

Sam’s Rules of Halloween:

  1. Wear a costume.
  2. Pass out treats.
  3. Never blow out a jack-o’-lantern.
  4. And ALWAYS check your candy.

Daryl Dixon (SpecGru)

From his early years, Daryl Dixon found it necessary to depend on himself rather than others for survival. Raised in a family that was far from functional, with an abusive father who was an alcoholic and a brother who couldn’t be counted on, Daryl honed his ability to fend for himself and adapt to various situations. His challenging childhood equipped him with exceptional survival skills, but at the expense of his social abilities and a strong reluctance towards trusting others.

Prior to the epidemic, Daryl resided in isolation amidst Georgia’s forests alongside his sibling Merle. He lacked a regular occupation and frequently found himself involved in illegal pursuits following Merle’s example. However, after the catastrophe, Merle was split from Daryl when he was fastened on a rooftop. In an abortive attempt to save Merle, Daryl teamed up with Rick. Later, Daryl forged deep relationships within the collective, most notably with Carol Peletier and Rick Grimes himself.

In the midst of global turmoil, Daryl poises himself with his exceptional abilities to tackle the perils that hide in all directions. Be it tracking down enemies amidst thick woodlands or safeguarding vital points during city conflicts, Daryl remains an elusive and powerful figure.

Slamfire (SpecGru)

In his high school years, Felix excelled both on the football field and academically – earning straight A’s. However, when not engaged in football or studies, he was often engrossed in his extensive collection of horror movies, ranging from the tense to the gruesome. As the Football team’s Captain and an outstanding student, he managed to triumph in both games and grades all through graduation. Armed with a college scholarship, he was eager to embark on further studies, but found it hard to curb his partying, ultimately leading him to fail out of college. With no structured classes or football practice to keep him busy, the true terror – growing up – began…

Pausing uncertain about his path ahead, Felix went back to his old high school, taking on the role of a summer camp counselor. There, amidst familiar surroundings, he contemplated his aspirations, trying to figure out what he wanted to become as an adult. Yet…

On an unsettling dusk-lit night, an unusual individual donning a football helmet created chaos at the campsite! He instilled fear among the youths and roared several chainsaws, but it was none other than Felix who courageously tackled him to the ground, thereby apprehending the murderer and ensuring everyone’s safety.

To further develop his abilities in survival and civilian rescue, Felix decided to join the military with an ambition to eventually complete his education in film studies at college. His dream is to someday create a movie based on his personal experiences as a camp counselor, as well as the chilling tale of the football helmet killer, which has left a lasting impact.

Art the Clown (KorTac)

Initially spotted in Miles County on All Hallows’ Eve, this malevolent being swiftly asserted his status as an embodiment of unadulterated wickedness, causing a trail of gruesome killings in his wake.

This character, easily recognizable by its distinctive appearance, dons a black-and-white clown suit and sports a face painted in stark contrast – demonic or devilish in nature, with expressions that oscillate between broad grins and chilling sneers. His actions frequently involve extreme brutality, employing various weapons and tools to carry out his heinous deeds in increasingly grotesque ways as the crimes escalate.

He possesses extraordinary abilities that suggest an unending lifespan. Despite appearing mortally injured, he miraculously recovers each time, continuing to instill fear as he returns yet again.

Art does not speak but uses exaggerated expressions and gestures instead. This makes him even more creepy since he silently moves around like a predator stalking its prey while having that sick sense of humor present in clowns.

Instead of appearing haphazard, his chosen victims seem to be young women. He exhibits an unusual fascination towards these individuals, frequently subjecting them to prolonged torment before ultimately taking their lives. His actions are not merely homicides; they are intricately planned displays of cruelty that echo the twisted persona he embodies, much like a disturbed clown might.

Michael Myers (KorTac)

In the tranquil town of Haddonfield, Illinois, Michael Myers’ life took an ominous turn when, at six years old, he inexplicably killed his older sister on Halloween in 1963. Following this horrific event, Michael was committed to Smith’s Grove Sanitarium for 15 years under the supervision of child psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis. During this period, Michael remained eerily silent. Initially hopeful about Michael’s recovery, Dr. Loomis eventually came to view his patient as a cold embodiment of evil with no trace of humanity.

On October 30th, 1978, Michael managed to break free from the mental institution, and come Halloween night, he targeted a young woman named Laurie Strode. Clad in a white, emotionless mask and blue workman’s overalls, this relentless figure hunted Laurie throughout the evening, leaving a trail of dead friends and anyone else who dared to cross his path. Despite receiving numerous injuries at the hands of both Loomis and Laurie, Michael showed no signs of stopping, appearing almost invincible in his pursuit.

1978’s Halloween events firmly established Michael Myers as one of Haddonfield’s most chilling figures in history. His silent demeanor, seemingly no motive beyond pure wickedness, and relentless persona make him an incarnation of mindless, motive-less malevolence – a living manifestation of every child’s boogeyman fear.
