As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt and countless hours spent in the Call of Duty universe, I can’t help but feel a thrill of excitement at the prospect of Black Ops 6. The rumors of Buried’s return have sent me down memory lane, reminiscing about the countless nights I spent trying to survive wave after wave of undead hordes in that western town.
There’s speculation among enthusiasts that the developers of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 might reintroduce an iconic map from Black Ops 2. This conjecture stems from a striking similarity between a building in the revealed gameplay of Black Ops 6 Zombies and one found in the Buried map, a popular Zombies map from Black Ops 2. Although not yet verified, it’s suggested that Treyarch has some exciting surprises planned for longtime Zombies fans in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
The hype and anticipation for Black Ops 6 is palpable, with Treyarch recently showing off the game’s Zombies mode. Acting as both a new iteration of the game mode for players to enjoy and the next chapter in the ongoing saga, Black Ops 6 Zombies brings back a variety of highly requested features and makes significant quality-of-life improvements that fans won’t want to miss. Treyarch confirmed the return of round-based Zombies in Black Ops 6, as well as the ability to pause and return to a match as players please. However, Treyarch’s latest reveal seemingly shows off a location that has remained vacant since Black Ops 2.
Reddit user booNaZpcaC posted a screenshot from the trailer of Black Ops 6’s Zombies mode, which gives us our first glimpse of Liberty Falls, one of the maps set to launch with the game. Interestingly, another location featured in the trailer resembles the church found in the map Buried, which was initially introduced as part of the DLC for Black Ops 2 and took players on an adventure through an abandoned western town.
Fans Discuss New Black Ops 6 Zombies Map
In their recent hints, Treyarch suggests that the upcoming building might bring back the Jet Gun, a popular weapon from Black Ops 2, indicating that we could see more nods to the past. Black Ops 2’s Zombies mode is well-known in the series for introducing iconic maps such as Origins and Mob of the Dead, as well as some less favored ones. Among these, TranZit, the debut map from Black Ops 2, is particularly notorious, setting players in a post-apocalyptic world where they travel across a vast map using a bus.
Apart from introducing Zombies, Black Ops 6 also includes substantial modifications to its multiplayer mode, reintroducing several well-loved features. Among these, the return of Call of Duty’s theater mode and the revival of classic prestige – a feature much sought after by fans – are noteworthy. Black Ops 6 is scheduled for release on October 25, making it the first Call of Duty game to be accessible on day one for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
