In the Jeju Island Arc of ‘Solo Leveling‘, we witnessed an awe-inspiring fight between Jin-Woo and the Ant King. However, instead of basking in his victory, Jin-Woo faces a new challenge: the critical state of Cha Hae-In. Prior to Jin-Woo’s arrival, South Korean Hunters suffered heavy losses. Despite his efforts to save her, Hae-In’s health continues to deteriorate at an alarming rate. Will Jin-Woo be able to save her?

Arriving at Jeju Island, I found myself squaring off against the most formidable foe yet in Solo Leveling. Not only did I manage to emerge victorious, but I also tended to the wounds of my fellow Hunters, mending them as best I could following the fierce battle. However, my healing efforts seem to be fruitless on Cha Hae-In. With each ticking second, she’s slipping closer to the brink of death. Is there any hope left for her, or have I exhausted all possible solutions?

Cha Hae-In’s Fatal Condition, Explained

What happened to Cha Hae-In?

During the Jeju Raid operation, the party split into two units. As Japanese soldiers kept the bulk of the ants preoccupied, the Korean soldiers targeted the Ant Queen’s nest head-on. Led by Chae Hae-In and others, our team progressed methodically, ultimately reaching the nest and, with combined effort, vanquishing the Queen. However, just as we were about to celebrate, another danger emerged, annihilating us all.

The Ant King’s Dominance

Out of nowhere, the formidable Ant King, a warrior who had previously defeated several top-tier Japanese Hunters, made his appearance. Upon learning that his Queen was deceased, he set his sights on the Hunters. In an instant, he zoomed towards Hae-In and struck her with such force that she collided with a wall, rendering her unconscious and causing severe internal injuries. The King then turned his attention to other Hunters, even taking the life of Min Byung-Gyu, a high-ranking healer who could potentially revive Hae-In.

Jin-Woo’s Efforts Fail

Upon arrival, Jin-Woo quickly tended to the wounded Hunters with healing potions. However, when he attempted to use one on Hae-In, it proved ineffective. Her injuries were too severe, causing her health points to plummet dramatically. The potion simply couldn’t restore someone so gravely hurt. After vanquishing the Ant King, Jin-Woo hastened to check on Hae-In, but found her state had deteriorated further. Her complexion paled and her vitality was fading rapidly.

In the end, Jin-Woo chose to administer the Potion of Everlasting Life to her, a decision he made after successfully using this legendary remedy to break his mother’s Eternal Sleep. However, the Potion of Everlasting Life proved ineffective because it only treats ailments and not physical wounds.

Will Cha Hae-In Survive?

The following section contains spoilers from Solo Leveling Manhwa

utilizing Shadow Exchange to move Hae-In to a hospital in Korea or speeding on Kaisel. However, neither choice seemed practical. Shadow Exchange was still cooling down after being used for the trip to Jeju Island and traveling with Kaisel would take too long and potentially endanger Hae-In’s life. Ultimately, his only remaining option was Shadow Extraction.

Shadow Extraction Saves Hae-In

In Chapter 104, I witnessed Jin-Woo performing a Shadow Extraction on the lifeless form of Min Byung-Gyu. Initially, Byung-Gyu’s spirit resisted the transformation, viewing it as morally questionable. However, when Cha Hae-In’s life hung in the balance, Jin-Woo coerced him into it. As soon as the transformation occurred, Byung-Gyu’s shadow miraculously healed Hae-In autonomously, without any instructions from Jin-Woo. Baek Yoon-Ho was taken aback and felt a surge of anger towards Jin-Woo’s actions, yet simultaneously requested him to handle Byung-Gyu’s shadow with due respect.

Jin-Woo comprehended Yoon-Ho’s feelings and eliminated the threat only when Hae-In recovered. This action further confirmed that although he possesses powerful abilities, his motives remain benevolent. Meanwhile, even though she was still unaware, Hae-In’s life had been safely pulled from peril.

As I harnessed the incredible powers bestowed upon me, I managed to bring an end to the thrilling events on Jeju Island. With Hae-In’s life now safe, it seems that a deeper connection between us may be forged, perhaps even leading to joint battles in our future. The unforgettable escapades on Jeju Island will serve as the climactic finale of Season 2 in Solo Leveling, leaving me eager to see what adventures await!
