As a long-time Pokemon GO trainer with countless hours spent catching, battling, and exploring the digital world, I’ve seen my fair share of adorable creatures, but none quite as intriguing as Togedemaru. This Electric/Steel Roly-Poly Pokemon from the seventh generation has always piqued my interest due to its unique design and rarity in the game.
Steel event which lasts until July 30. During this period, the spawns of Togedemaru and other Steel-type Pokemon have increased. Moreover, for the first time ever, players can encounter Togedemaru’s shiny variant in Pokemon GO.
How to Get Togedemaru in Pokemon GO
Up until July 30 at 8 pm local time, trainers can more readily locate Togedemaru in the game. However, there are other methods to capture this charming creature during the event as well.
Togedemaru can be found in one-star raids together with Pawniard, Skarmory, and Klink. Additionally, you’ll have a chance to encounter this creature as a reward upon finishing different research tasks. For instance:
- Strength of Steel Timed Research
- Complete the ‘Power up Steel-type Pokemon 15 times‘ task.
- Field Research Tasks
- Complete the Catch 10 Steel-type Pokemon, Explore 2 km, and Power up Steel-type Pokemon 5 times tasks.
Togedemaru has a weakness for Fire, Fighting, and Ground types of attacks. On the other hand, it is stronger when faced with Electric, Ice, Poison, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Dragon, Steel, and Fairy types.
Can Togedemaru be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
In Pokemon GO, Togedemaru now has the chance to appear as a shiny version with a unique, lighter brown color instead of its typical gray hue. To identify a shiny Pokemon in the game, look for the distinctive icon that appears above its Combat Power (CP) during an encounter.
Does Togedemaru Evolve in Pokemon GO?
In the entirety of the Pokemon franchise, including Pokemon GO, there’s only one form of Togedemaru that exists. The last chance trainers had to capture this Pokemon in a mainline game was with Pokemon Sword and Shield on the Nintendo Switch.
