Can You Use Other Weapons In Star Wars Outlaws

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent traversing galaxies far, far away, I must admit that the prospect of wielding more than just my trusty blaster in Star Wars Outlaws has me practically jumping out of my X-Wing cockpit with excitement! While my main weapon will always be my faithful sidearm, the opportunity to switch things up and try out other powerful guns found across the various worlds is a tantalizing one.

In the game titled “Star Wars Outlaws“, players will have access to a diverse array of equipment, primarily relying on the trusty blaster as their primary weapon. Additional tools for combat include grenades and Nix, but in most situations, you’ll find yourself reverting back to your blaster unless you stumble upon another firearm.

Throughout the game, Kay will stick with her primary weapon, but that doesn’t limit her from finding and utilizing other potent firearms scattered across different realms. Here’s a guide on locating and employing these alternative weapons to diversify your combat efficiency.

Throughout the game, Kay’s primary weapon is exclusively her blaster. While she can handle other weapons, her blaster remains her go-to choice. The blaster offers various upgrades that enhance its performance and provide players with diverse shooting options. These alternate firing modes allow for different types of damage per shot, including:

  • Plasma
  • Ion
  • Power
  • Stun – This is more of a special shot that charges up but does take out most enemies in one hit.

Although the blaster is primarily what Kay will rely on as her weapon, she has the flexibility to grab and utilize any additional weapons encountered within the game.

How To Pick Up & Use Other Weapons In Star Wars Outlaws

In your game, you may come across various weapons that enemies have dropped or are left behind at their bases. You can identify these pick-upable items by a white bar and gun icon appearing above the ground near them. To obtain a weapon, simply move towards it and interact with it. If an enemy drops a weapon during combat, Nix can also retrieve it for you. Once picked up, the weapon’s ammunition is limited, and it will automatically drop when you run out. The total ammo count for each weapon is shown by white bars surrounding the crosshair in the center of your screen.

Make sure to watch out for when your ammunition runs low, as an animation will follow showing Kay discarding the weapon. Ensure you are in a secure location before this happens to avoid losing it or placing yourself in danger.

While you can dodge and sprint with a picked-up weapon, any animation that requires Kay to use her hands will drop the weapon, such as climbing a ladder, grabbing a cliff, or getting on your speeder. It is possible to use Nix to retrieve a dropped weapon when climbing, but this is not always possible and does limit the overall use of a picked-up weapon.
