Capcom announces yet more great Monster Hunter Wilds changes that really won’t matter at all until the PC port is fixed

In simpler terms, although Monster Hunter Wilds is making some positive adjustments to address ongoing concerns, its most significant issue – a flawed PC version – may not significantly enhance the game’s overall image.

Although Monster Hunter Wilds is consistently ranked as one of the top games of 2025 and has been released in a year filled with outstanding titles, its disappointing performance on PC has been an ongoing issue since its launch. Despite Capcom making significant updates to address some fundamental problems, such as excessive CPU usage, recent Steam reviews, which are largely negative, suggest that the game’s PC version is still struggling with performance issues.

As a devoted fan, I find myself eagerly anticipating the latest announcement from Capcom about an upcoming update. The tantalizing hint of significant enhancements has me on the edge of my seat, but it appears that this time around, the focus seems solely on console versions without any mention of further advancements for the PC platform.

The update version 1.021 is planned for release on Wednesday, August 13, and it includes enhancements in two main areas: fine-tuning (general adjustments) and user interface modifications for navigating the world map using directional buttons or D-pad.

To enhance the initial aspect, Secret mounts will see improvements such as:

1. Faster rotation speed during 180-degree turns while riding.
2. Quicker dismount speed following a successful evasion.
3. Seamless map opening directly after mounting.

Awesome! It’s kind of funny how my struggles with Monster Hunter World’s less-than-stellar PC performance have been part of the problems I’ve encountered, but I’m glad to see Capcom stepping up to tackle these issues anyway.

While using the controller’s D-pad, you’ll find that the cursor moves more logically based on the direction of the button press, making navigation feel more intuitive. This is certainly a positive change if the overall control sensitivity is also improved.

Despite Capcom’s best efforts, the PC version of Monster Hunter World continues to suffer from significant issues, casting a shadow over an otherwise exceptional game that is a strong candidate for Game of the Year. Until Capcom rectifies these problems associated with Dragon’s Dogma 2-scale challenges in the porting process, the performance on this platform may remain subpar.
