The game titled “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate” is introducing the popular character Casey Jones as a playable hero starting in February. Originally launched for iOS and Mac in 2023 by developer Super Mega Evil Corp, this game garnered significant acclaim from Turtles fans due to its immersive Hades-style roguelike experience, which brought their cherished characters into an intense adventure. The narrative of the game was jointly penned by TMNT comics author Tom Waltz and Super Mega Evil Corp’s creative director Michael Johnson, and it follows the turtle brothers as they engage in combat against numerous iconic adversaries on a quest to save their mentor, Splinter.

Initially, the game titled “TMNT: Splintered Fate” was limited to specific systems. However, it eventually found its place on the Nintendo Switch, debuting on July 17, 2024, as a temporary timed exclusive. Subsequently, it became available on PC platforms like Steam and the Epic Games Store on November 6. The game’s developers, Super Mega Evil Corp, have indicated that they will be adding new playable characters, adversaries, and environments to “TMNT Splintered Fate“.

Super Mega Evil Corp. recently announced the first expansion for their game, TMNT: Splintered Fate, titled Casey Jones and the Junkyard Jam. This DLC will be released on all platforms on February 5. As its name implies, it introduces Casey Jones as a playable character, along with a new setting called the Punk Yard Biome, teeming with Punk Frogs to fight against. From the trailer for Casey Jones and the Junkyard Jam, we can see that he will be the first playable character in TMNT: Splintered Fate with a ranged attack, where he hurls a hockey puck at his opponents.

He’s made appearances as a playable character across various TMNT video games, with 2022’s nostalgic TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge even featuring him as an unlockable bonus post-game character.

Casey, known for his lively nature, was previously seen in a role outside playability in the game “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate”. It seems he’s now moving into active participation on February 5th. He might be the initial post-launch character added to the playable roster of this game, and given the abundance of potential combatants in the TMNT universe, there are many more characters that could enrich the game. Characters like April O’Neil and the IDW version of Angel Bridge/Nobody had non-playable appearances in the base campaign, so they might follow Casey as future additions to the game.
