  • Bonuses include double XP for Nice Throws, increased Shiny chances for Omanyte, Kabuto, and Archen.

For March 16th, Pokemon GO is launching a fresh Catch Mastery event centered around Archen. The Catch Mastery event is one of the regular features in Pokemon GO, and this upcoming version, which will be the first to focus on a bird-type pocket monster, is particularly exciting because it will introduce a creature that originally appeared with the release of Pokemon Black and White.

2020 marked the initial occurrence of Catch Mastery, a 10-part Timed Research challenge where players tried to catch Drifloon for Halloween. In 2023, this event made a comeback, with an emphasis on capturing Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, and Hitmontop, while Tyrogue emerged in the 7 km egg hatches. The third iteration of Catch Mastery took place that same year, shifting its focus to catching Ice-type Pokemon and introducing shiny Cryogonal into the augmented reality game for the first time.

In this upcoming event on March 16, from 10 am to 8 pm local time, participants will participate in the fourth Catch Mastery. The highlight of this event is the appearance of Archen as a reward for completing Field Research tasks that focus on throwing Pokeballs. Additionally, a new series of 10 Field Research tasks will be introduced, offering a total of 40 encounters with Fossil Pokemon having Rock/Flying types. A $2 ticket can be purchased to gain access to a Paid Timed Research, which rewards trainers with an extra 40 encounters featuring Archen. As always, the tasks and rewards from this timed research must be completed and claimed by March 16 at 8 pm local time.
