Rec Room is often likened to Roblox, offering players a social space where they can build and explore user-created rooms. While virtual reality (VR) games aren’t mainstream, Rec Room attracted a large audience—over 150 million players—thanks to both VR headset users and those who played on platforms like the Nintendo Switch. Despite this success, the game is now facing challenges.
Watching the final part of One Piece unfold feels like witnessing history in the making – I really think it’s going to be legendary for shonen manga. Eiichiro Oda has finished the first part of this final saga, and is now working on the second. The Elbaf arc, which is where we are now, is already a massive story, clocking in at over 50 chapters and becoming one of the longest arcs in the whole One Piece series.

The Persona series started in 1996 as a spin-off of Atlus’s Megami Tensei franchise, originally released on PlayStation as Revelations: Persona. Over the past 30 years, Persona has become incredibly popular, with many games released as part of the main series and as spin-offs. The last major Persona game before recently was Persona 5, which came out in 2016 for the PS3 and PS4, followed by an expanded version called Persona 5 Royal in 2019. In 2024, Atlus released Persona 3 Reload, and they are currently working on Persona 4 Revival, though a release date hasn’t been announced yet.
Nordic Games eventually bought the rights to the Darksiders franchise, including the THQ name, and rebranded as THQ Nordic. In 2016, they released an updated version of the original game, Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, following a similar update for Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition the year before. These updated releases were successful, allowing THQ Nordic to continue the series with the release of Darksiders 3 in 2018. A prequel spinoff, Darksiders Genesis, followed in 2019, and a new main installment is currently in development.
I don’t enjoy every open-world game, even the ones considered the best. In fact, the following games are often called masterpieces, not just within the open-world genre, but in gaming overall. However, I stopped playing each of them before finishing the story. While the reasons differed for each game, my general enjoyment of open worlds wasn’t enough to keep me engaged until the very end.
Watching the Boruto series, I always found Shikamaru’s role as an advisor to the Seventh Hokage, Naruto, interesting. He was there to keep Naruto from acting too impulsively and potentially endangering the village. Then, after Naruto was gone, Shikamaru actually became Hokage, and honestly, it didn’t feel right. He’s undeniably intelligent, but he just didn’t seem to have that inherent quality of leadership and self-sacrifice that I always associated with the Hokage. It really made me think there were other characters who would have been a much better fit for the position.
The battle royale world is very competitive, with games like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone being hugely popular. However, PUBG has remained successful, largely because its developers consistently update the game with new content. They recently hinted at a PUBG and Stellar Blade collaboration, bringing the character Eve into the game. Continuing this positive trend, the developers are now releasing the long-awaited prop hunt mode, though there’s a slight drawback.

The next Magic: The Gathering expansion will return players to the world of Arcavios and its famous Strixhaven magic academy. This set picks up the story after the events of the Phyrexian invasion from the March of the Machine expansion. Wizards of the Coast has been previewing cards, including new Commander decks focused on each of Strixhaven’s schools of magic, and has now fully revealed the new set.
