This fall, Microsoft plans to expand its Xbox family with the introduction of the ROG Xbox Ally, a joint project with Windows 11. Revealed during the June Xbox event, this handheld device will come in two variations: the basic ROG Xbox Ally and the more potent ROG Xbox Ally X. Leveraging the power of Xbox Cloud Gaming, the ROG Xbox Ally enables gamers to carry their digital libraries wherever they go, addressing a gap in Xbox’s ecosystem that emerged with Valve’s Steam Deck handheld release some years back. It appears that Microsoft’s initial first-party handheld has been put on hold, as the ROG Xbox Ally gears up for its fall launch.
