To build up the game selection for the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo has been releasing updated versions of popular Switch games with improved features and content. These “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” versions are now available for titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and, recently, Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

FromSoftware, the studio behind popular games like Elden Ring, has a long-standing relationship with Nintendo that goes back many years. They’ve created several games specifically for Nintendo consoles, including the well-loved Lost Kingdoms and Lost Kingdoms 2 for the GameCube. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki explained that the upgraded hardware allowed them to achieve their vision for the game, particularly with online features, much more easily. Industry experts believe this close collaboration – where Nintendo reportedly helped fund and develop the game from an early idea – means it will likely remain exclusive to Nintendo platforms.

IGGYMOB, a South Korean game studio, is creating and releasing MOOSA: Dirty Fate. They’re probably best known for Gungrave G.O.R.E, a 2022 third-person shooter. This game continued the Gungrave series, which originally appeared on the PS2 in the early 2000s and was revived with the 2017 PSVR game Gungrave VR. IGGYMOB also made Dogfighter WW2, a 40-player battle royale set during World War II.
