To date, only one trailer for “Gears of War: E-Day” has been unveiled, showcasing Marcus Fenix battling a Locust Drone amidst the Locust Horde’s attack on Kalona. This trailer indicates that The Coalition is bringing back at least one iconic weapon from past games – the Mark 1 Lancer Assault Rifle or Retro Lancer – for “E-Day”. Given that “E-Day” is the earliest game in the “Gears” series timeline, it’s possible that many weapons from current titles may not be included, but there’s a strong expectation that some iconic weapons will make a comeback in both the campaign and multiplayer of “E-Day”.

In the sixth generation of Pokemon games, Heliolisk was first introduced – this is an Electric/Normal type creature. To get hold of Heliolisk in Pokemon X and Y, players must evolve a Helioptile using a Sun Stone after catching it either on Route 9 or Friend Safari. Heliolisk can be a strong choice for trainers because it has access to potent Electric-type moves like Thunderbolt, Electrify, and Thunder.

According to Grubb’s statements, the upcoming God of War game, based on Greek mythology, won’t be a remaster or a direct sequel to God of War Ragnarok. Instead, it appears to be a spin-off or side story, leading some gamers to ponder the possibility of a Miles Morales-inspired offshoot following Ragnarok. However, despite Grubb’s initial suggestion that this side project might be discussed during God of War’s anniversary celebration in April, Santa Monica Studios has remained relatively quiet on the matter. More recently, Grubb reported that the release date for this new God of War game has been pushed back internally to 2026, which could potentially offer several advantages.

Similar to its previous version, the Switch 2’s operating system undergoes periodic updates to enhance performance, squash existing glitches, and sometimes introduce fresh user features. However, these updates often tackle a wide range of unspecified bugs and stability concerns. The update version 20.1.5 for the Switch 2 is an example of this, as its patch notes merely mentioned general system stability enhancements. To get the 20.1.5 firmware update, Switch 2 consoles need to be connected to the internet. After a quick download, the console will automatically reboot.

2025 marked the full release of Age of Darkness: Final Stand, which was my first game review for Firaxis this year. Reminiscent of They Are Billions, Age of Darkness: Final Stand is an engaging dark fantasy survival real-time strategy (RTS) with unique twists. Players find themselves in a bleak world overrun by ominous entities known as “Nightmares,” tasked with constructing and safeguarding humanity’s final strongholds against endless assaults. The game’s advanced “SwarmTech” technology allows for the simultaneous rendering of tens of thousands of enemies on screen, resulting in intense and visually striking “Death Nights” that test a player’s strategic skills. For me, the standout feature was its lengthy and strategically designed campaign, with enough surprises to keep players hooked from start to finish. Age of Darkness: Final Stand boasts straightforward yet enjoyable base-building mechanics, resource management, and a diverse cast of unique heroes. It provides a challenging single-player experience and eagerly awaited cooperative multiplayer mode.
