After nearly 18 years as a PlayStation 3 exclusive, Metal Gear Solid 4 is finally coming to other platforms. Konami announced during a February 12, 2026, presentation that the game will be included in Master Collection Vol. 2, alongside Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel. Many fans believed MGS4 would remain exclusive to the PS3 forever, so this news is a welcome surprise. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on August 27, 2026. However, not everything from the original release will be included in this new version.

When games moved to high-definition graphics, developers focused more on large, open worlds and moved away from traditional world maps. However, some RPGs still featured impressive single cities or collections of smaller towns and cities filled with intricate details. For players who fondly remember spending time exploring towns and cities in older games, these titles might offer a similar experience.

Instead, Bloober Team surprised everyone by announcing another installment in the Layers of Fear series, returning to the psychological horror that first made them known.

Keep an eye out for mermaids battling bandits near the sunken temple on your left. Defeat the enemies there, and you’ll find the Scampuss just ahead.

February 2026’s free PlayStation Plus games include Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, Subnautica: Below Zero, Ultros, and Undisputed. PlayStation Plus subscribers can claim these games until March 2nd, after which they’ll be replaced with the March lineup on March 3rd. These free games are a key benefit of the Essential tier, but are also available to players with Extra or Premium subscriptions. A major update for the Extra and Premium tiers is coming on February 17th.
