It’s natural to compare new shooting games to established hits, but building a successful multiplayer experience is particularly challenging. Developers need to attract players and keep them engaged for the long term. Currently, Highguard is looking promising – it’s taking risks and trying innovative ideas that could really shake things up and become the next popular game.

The new Pokemon TCG expansion, Ascended Heroes, will celebrate everything Pokemon from the past year and give players a sneak peek at what’s coming next. It brings back fan-favorite features like Stellar Tera Pokemon, Owner’s Pokemon, and many Mega Pokemon. The set also introduces characters from the Pokemon Legends Z-A video game, including trainers Corbeau and Canari, to the card game for the first time. Unfortunately, there’s been some disappointing news regarding when the English version of Ascended Heroes will be released.

There are a lot of roguelike games available, and Slay the Spire is still considered one of the best. A new game called Omelet You Cook, from SchuBox Games, is trying something different and is currently in early access on Steam. It’s set to officially launch on February 8th, but that only gives it about a month before the release of Slay the Spire’s sequel, which is expected to quickly become the main focus for fans of the genre.

Honestly, things were a bit mixed for us lately. While we saw an overall revenue boost, it wasn’t from selling more Xbox consoles – those sales actually dropped by 25%. The good news is the Activision Blizzard acquisition and a ton of people signing up for Xbox Game Pass really helped to offset that. So, subscriptions and that big acquisition were the real drivers of our income this time around.
