I was super excited when Heartopia finally came out globally on January 7th after its initial launch in China last summer! It’s a cozy life sim for mobile, and then it hit Steam about a week later, which was awesome. One of the best parts, like a lot of these games, is decorating your house. The developers at XD Inc. really gave us some cool tools to do it. There’s this feature called Blueprints – it’s basically a creative mode where you can save your designs as you go, or even copy your whole house! That means you can easily change colors or tweak the furniture layout without starting all over. It’s a game changer!

Kaguya was incredibly powerful and important as the source of chakra, but her appearance in the story felt forced and unwanted. She arrived too late and had no meaningful connection to Naruto’s friends, even considering her relationship to Hagoromo. Many fans believe the story would have benefited from a different final villain – perhaps someone who almost filled that role, if Kaguya hadn’t appeared.

Embark’s new shooter, ARC Raiders, initially began as a game focused solely on players battling the environment. However, it later changed direction to include both player-versus-player (PvP) and player-versus-environment (PvE) combat. This means players will face threats from both other players and the ARC enemies. While some ARC enemies, like Ticks and Pops, are easily defeated, others – such as Rocketeers, Leapers, and Bastions – are much more dangerous and players generally try to avoid them. Many players have theorized that these enemies are getting smarter and learning from player behavior, but that’s actually not happening.

Both Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo and Boruto feature aliens in their stories, leading to frequent comparisons. However, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is often considered the better sequel, even though it’s shorter. It stands out with its unique art style, compelling characters, thoughtful themes, and well-developed world, making it a stronger follow-up than Boruto.

While we’re thrilled to see Leon back, his infection is a serious concern. He has what’s being called Latent On-Set T-Virus Syndrome, or Raccoon City Syndrome. The latest trailer for Resident Evil: Requiem showed some of his symptoms, making it clear he’s in a desperate fight against time. We don’t know much about this syndrome yet, but it’s already obvious it’s a dangerous and difficult illness.

On February 18th, DeNA released a brief video hinting at the new set, featuring its mascots dancing. This sparked speculation among fans that ‘Paldean Wonders’ (or B2a) might be the first smaller expansion to include three different types of booster packs. This idea came about because the previous major set, B2, was the first to only include one type of pack. Some players thought DeNA was testing out new ways to structure sets, but the official trailer for ‘Paldean Wonders’ has now confirmed that’s not the case.

It’s honestly pretty rough in the game industry right now. You’d think someone like Jake Solomon, a really talented designer, should have the freedom to make the games they want, but jobs are getting super scarce. Even big studios are closing down, which is crazy. I heard a developer who worked on huge hits like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 is even struggling to find work! Solomon started a new studio to build this amazing Life Sim game, and it’s really disappointing to hear they’re shutting down now. It just feels like a tough time for developers.
