It’s no surprise to see another Monster Hunter Stories game, and Monster Hunter Stories 3 is the biggest and most polished one yet. This third installment really refines what makes these games enjoyable, with a greater focus on story and improvements throughout. Fans of the MH Stories series will likely find this to be the best entry so far.
In Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, you can actually change a monster’s genes to help them. It might sound strange, but it’s presented as a way to protect species! Ultimately, combining genes is how you create the strongest and most effective Monstie companions.
You can often find clues to their location by looking for nearby Therabugs, as they usually float near hidden Poogies. Some Poogies are also buried underground and require you to finish the first part of Thea’s story and unlock the ‘Poogie Hunter’ skill to find them.
If you pre-order Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, you’ll receive special armor for Eleanor called Layered Armor: Skyscale Queen. This armor lets you give Eleanor the appearance of a Skyscale Rathalos.
We recommend being between levels 52 and 55 before attempting this Level 58 boss fight – it will make the battle much easier. This boss is vulnerable to Dragon attacks but also uses them, so equip Dragon-element weapons and consider wearing Ebony Odogaron armor. You can find Ebony Odogaron in areas like Old Capital Road and around the Sacrosanctum/Lazlion areas. This armor provides skills that are particularly helpful in this fight.
You can find lots of these in the Canalta Timberland and surrounding areas. We’re specifically looking for the bright blue ones, and they always appear in the same spots. Let’s go find them!
