It all began with a 3-0 victory over Atlanta FaZe, an achievement unmatched for over 500 days by any other team.
Nevertheless, FaZe countered with a victory against the Ravens during the Grand Final of the first CDL Minor. In the ongoing Madrid Major, the Royal Ravens have begun a powerful streak through the elimination round, following their descent into the lower brackets at the hands of the LA Thieves.
Eliminations Galore
In the first game of the knockout stage, the Carolina Royal Ravens overwhelmingly defeated the Vegas Falcons, ending the match with a 3 – 0 score, which included an exciting comeback in the round of Search. Though many commend the Falcons for their tenacity, their inability to maintain focus during critical moments is causing concern.
In the match that followed, the Royal Ravens continued their flight, facing off against OpTic Texas, who were earlier favored to win the Madrid Major. However, OpTic only managed to secure one map victory – the initial Hardpoint map. The score was incredibly tight, ending at 248 – 250 in Carolina’s favor, demonstrating a very close competition.
After that, it was a clean victory for the Royal Ravens, as the following maps featured a dominating 3-0 win against Optic Texas in Protocol Control.
After their initial defeat against LAT, questions arose about the durability of the Carolina Royal Ravens. However, it’s been observed that despite Reece ‘Vivid’ Drost’s current eye injury, he’s been performing exceptionally well during games.
The Royal Ravens will now face off against strong competitors like Toronto Ultra and Atlanta FaZe, two teams that have shone this season. Atlanta FaZe started slow, but they’ve found their rhythm and are currently on a winning streak of nine games – even securing a victory at the first Call of Duty League Minor.
At this moment, anyone could potentially win the $150,000 grand prize if they possess the skills needed to claim it.
