CDL Major IV Heads to DreamHack Dallas in May

Activision has announced that the venue for the fourth major tournament of the Call of Duty League, Major IV, will be DreamHack Dallas. The exciting competition is scheduled to take place from May 23rd through 25th at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.

Additionally, it’s been verified that DH Dallas will be the venue for a Challengers Open. This is fantastic news for players competing in the tier beneath the Call of Duty League, as the Challengers scene has seemed somewhat neglected lately.

Major First

According to a post made on the Call of Duty blog, Daniel Tsay, who serves as the General Manager of Call of Duty Esports at Activision, elaborated on a particular topic.

We’re excited to bring Major IV to DreamHack for the first time in Call of Duty League history.

Attending an event at DreamHack offers both long-time enthusiasts and newcomers a thrilling experience of immersing themselves in the legendary world of gaming and esports, as well as witnessing top-tier Call of Duty competition live.

Enthusiasts are eager for the comeback of Challengers Opens up until 2025. Currently, three events have been scheduled for this year, with the first one happening at Major II in Texas. Notably, the upcoming Major I, which is slated for next week in Madrid, will be the sole CDL Major this year that won’t feature any Challengers events.

At every Challengers Open tournament, there will be a total prize pool of $100,000. Specifically, the winning team will receive $40,000 from this pool.

This season marks numerous firsts in the CDL. Not only is it the initial EU Major in Call of Duty League’s history, but it’s also the first time a CDL Major is being held at a DreamHack event.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my admiration for DreamHack – one of the most renowned and productive gaming and esports communities globally. This iconic event has been around since 1994, and over the past three decades, it has journeyed across continents, offering a stage to some of the best tournaments in the industry.

Last year, the Overwatch Champions Series World Finals event was held at DreamHack Stockholm.
