The Pokemon Company has formally declared that the upcoming addition in the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, named Celestial Guardians, is set to debut. In October 2024, the digital version of the Pokemon TCG (Trading Card Game) called “Pokemon TCG Pocket” was introduced, offering enthusiasts of the traditional tabletop game a digital platform for collecting cards, constructing decks, and battling other players. The release of the mobile game’s newest set, “Shining Revelry,” significantly increased its revenue, while an upsurge in popularity across various regions such as France, Canada, and the United States also played a significant role in the growth.
In a fresh trailer, The Pokemon Company unveiled the upcoming expansion for Pokemon TCG Pocket, titled Celestial Guardians, set to launch on April 29 at 11 pm PDT. The new deck includes the introduction of the initial partner Pokemon – Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio, as well as the Legendary Pokemon Solgaleo and Lunala. Characters from the era of Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon will also be included in this upcoming release. Previously, speculation hinted at the new set being called “Rising Hope,” but it appears the final English name has changed from that title.

A recent rumor about a new Pokemon TCG Pocket feature, Ranked Battles, seemed accurate when it leaked back in March, and since that prediction proved true, gamers are now more likely to trust leaks regarding upcoming card sets too. The Celestial Guardians leak did correctly predict the release date, yet players, eager for the new set, humorously asked for patience, as many still lacked the previous expansion.
The final set released in March for Pokemon TCG Pocket was called Shining Revelry. It served as the third themed booster pack and the fifth expansion in the mobile game. This set contained a total of 111 cards, including nine new ex cards, with a focus on introducing shiny Pokemon from the Generation 9 roster. Since Shining Revelry included many pocket monsters from the Kanto region, it’s expected that Celestial Guardians will further capitalize on this nostalgia by adding trainers from Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon.
