Certain Affinity has Been Acquired by Keywords Studios

As a long-time gaming enthusiast who has witnessed the rise and fall of numerous studios, I must say that the acquisition of Certain Affinity by Keywords Studios is a move that truly excites me! This studio’s history, filled with hits like Call of Duty, Halo, and the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy, makes it a valuable addition to any portfolio.

Keywords Studios has acquired Certain Affinity.

According to a report from GI.biz, Keywords Studios has purchased Certain Affinity, but the exact cost of the deal hasn’t been disclosed yet. The transaction is contingent upon certain conditions and consists of an initial cash payment and an earn-out portion that depends on Certain Affinity’s future success.

This year, Keywords Studios is set to acquire Certain Affinity, following their purchase of Wushu Studios in August.

Established in 2006 by ex-employees from Bungie, Certain Affinity has since then been involved in creating games such as Call of Duty, Halo, Hogwarts Legacy, and other titles. Recently, a former team member at Certain Affinity suggested that the studio’s Halo Battle Royale game could have revolutionized the gaming industry.

Initially, Certain Affinity had been working on a Transformers video game, but due to some difficulties during the development process, they eventually transferred the project to Splash Damage.
