The Chaos Forest Abyss in Crimson Desert is connected to the Spire of Insight and, like other Abysses, it’s full of challenging puzzles. Your main goal is to locate and install large, high-tech chips, but it’s not as simple as it sounds. You’ll need to use all the tools available in Crimson Desert to successfully navigate the Chaos Forest and reach the nearby Abyss islands.
How to Clear Chaos Forest in Crimson Desert
Begin by using Blinding Flash and Focus Light to clear the thorny roots blocking the starting area. Next, find the glowing red Abyss chip on the ledge to the right of the entrance. Pick it up, then cool it down by dropping it into the water nearby. Finally, place the cooled chip into the empty slot near the entrance and activate it with Aerial Force Palm.
After crossing the chasm with either Fly or Axiom Force, clear away the roots as pictured. Return to where the roots were and use Nature’s Grasp to lift the door, then enter. Inside, use Axiom Force to grab the floating chip and align it with the slot. Finally, push it into place using Force Palm.
To activate the large disc outside, you first need to connect the power source inside this room to the one outside. To do this, you must lift the door and hold it open. Use Nature’s Grasp to raise the door, then grab one of the stone slabs in the room and place it under the door before it closes. If you do this correctly, a short cutscene will begin.
With the central disc now active, you can restore the Chaos Forest by pressing the button in its middle. To do this, hold onto the disc and use the Q/L2/LT buttons to brace yourself, then strike the button with Force Palm. Or, you can grab the button using Axiom Force and then use Force Palm.
If you’re hanging onto a wall and don’t press and hold the Q/L2/LT buttons to brace yourself, using Force Palm will push you backwards.
Once the button lights up, go to the platform to get your Abyss Artifact. It might not seem like much, but remember that each Abyss is usually linked to another. For example, the Chaos Forest Abyss leads to the Roots of Truth, which is a new island with more puzzles. Keep following the chain of Abysses, and you could find something really valuable – some even unlock elemental magic!
Each Abyss location has a central Abyss Nexus, which you’ll generally find floating above areas lacking fast travel options in Pywel. Because of this, you can actually use these islands to quickly get around – teleport to the Nexus, then skydive down to your desired location.
