Each one brings a unique twist that would not only pay homage to other beloved Nintendo characters but also enrich the gameplay experience in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

As a devoted fan, I was thrilled to witness the unveiling of “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.” While the initial trailer showcased numerous intriguing aspects, it wasn’t overly populated with cameos, unlike its counterpart, “The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.” However, the presence of iconic figures such as The Great Deku Tree and Impa was a delight. These characters hold significant weight in the Zelda universe, but they are not the whimsical, humorous cameos we find in “Link’s Awakening.”

The game continues to feature the most unusual guest appearances, such as Chain Chomps and Goombas from the popular Mario series, along with Wart from Super Mario Bros. 2 and Mr. Write, who is another name for Dr. Wright from SimCity. It’s time for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom to bring in more eccentric crossovers, and here are a few suggestions to get started.

Linkle, an eccentric character from the Zelda universe, initially appeared in the Dynasty Warriors spinoff titled Hyrule Warriors. She is essentially the female counterpart of Link, notable for her tendency to get lost. Unlike her male counterpart who wields a sword, Linkle prefers two crossbows. This weapon choice sets her apart and gives her an edge over Link in combat scenarios. Considering that Link might be absent from much of the gameplay, it could be amusing to include Linkle for a brief appearance. A humorous twist could unfold if Zelda initially mistakes Linkle for Link, only to discover the truth when Linkle’s hood is lowered.

A Heroine From Another World

In the game, Crypt of the NecroDancer, our main character is Cadence. She was also featured in a collaborative game titled Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda alongside Link and Zelda. Since she’s made an appearance before, why not have her return once more? This could be feasible considering the appearance of rifts in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Perhaps Cadence might grant Zelda a unique musical artifact, given that dancing plays a significant role in her games.

6 Bayonetta

The Ultimate Witch

Initially, the Bayonetta series was playable across various platforms. However, when Nintendo began publishing it with the second installment, Bayonetta transitioned into a character synonymous with Nintendo, much like Zelda or Princess Peach. In Bayonetta 3, a significant aspect of the narrative involves traversing different dimensions, hence Bayonetta’s ability to travel between realities.

Similar to Cadence, these rifts might account for Bayonetta’s presence in Hyrule instead of her usual life on Earth. If introduced, she could serve as an inspiring female figure, exchanging a few knowing glances with Zelda, adding some intrigue and empowerment to the storyline.

In the game “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess,” Midna serves as one of Link’s most exceptional companions, unlike Navi from “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” who was more of a constant presence. Unlike Navi, Midna isn’t always in Link’s ear or hovering nearby. Instead, she appears when Link requires assistance, and during his wolf transformations, she even rides along with him. The upcoming game, “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom,” hints at Zelda’s ability to ride on various objects. Could it be possible that Midna might return in this new adventure to grant Zelda the power to transform into a wolf for a mini-game or similar feature?

Give Another Nod To Mario’s Weird Sequel

It’s well known that The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening featured numerous delightful cameos, one of which was Wart from Super Mario Bros. 2. In the same vein, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom might honor Super Mario Bros. 2 again by incorporating Birdo into its lineup. They could take on the role as a boss or maybe provide Link with egg-themed items to collect. Birdo has been underrepresented in Nintendo games, and sometimes she seems overlooked, much like how Super Mario Bros. 2 is often seen as a less prominent title.

3 Princess Peach (“Christine”)

A Nod From Another Nintendo Princess

In the game “The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening“, there’s an extensive adventure filled with trading, one part of which requires players to deliver a heartfelt letter from Christine – a goat – to Mr. Write. Christine is smitten by him but worries about his reaction to her appearance.

Rather than inserting her own photo, Christine puts a picture of Princess Peach in the envelope, implying that she’s standing in for Princess Peach. It would make The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom even more exciting if they decided to incorporate Princess Peach into the game. Perhaps, she could be on a quest similar to Zelda’s search for Link, but this time looking for Mario.

2 Princess Hilda/Ravio

The Doppelgängers Of Lorule

In the game “The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds,” we encounter characters such as Princess Hilda and Ravio. This particular title in the series introduces some astonishing twists. Ravio, a shopkeeper, offers Link gear for dungeon expeditions, giving players a flexible approach to explore the game. As the story unfolds, it is disclosed that Ravio is actually a failed Link from an alternate world, Lorule, who failed to protect his kingdom and Princess Hilda. The possibility of both characters reappearing in “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom” would make sense, given the rifts’ ability to facilitate inter-dimensional travel, much like other instances in similar games.

1 Dampé

Bring Back The Dungeon Maker

Initially, Dampé was introduced as the caretaker of Kakariko Village cemetery in “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time”. He didn’t feature in the original “The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening”, but he did appear in the 2019 remake. In this version, players could engage in a mini-game with him where they could design their own dungeons. Given that Zelda has the ability to generate matter in “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom”, it would be logical to incorporate a dungeon or home-making mini-game. Perhaps Dampé could oversee this feature, even allowing for multiplayer sharing.
