Characters that Should Return in Resident Evil: Requiem DLC

Resident Evil Requiem features the return of popular character Leon Kennedy and welcomes a new face, Grace Ashcroft. The game also takes players back to Raccoon City, a location fans haven’t visited in years.

Resident Evil Requiem relies heavily on nostalgia and callbacks to older games, but it doesn’t quite deliver on bringing back beloved characters that fans, including myself, would love to see. With downloadable content planned for the future, there’s still a chance we’ll see some iconic faces from the Resident Evil series return. The big question now is, which characters deserve a comeback the most?

8. Rebecca Chambers

No Longer a Rookie

Rebecca Chambers is often overlooked by Resident Evil fans. She hasn’t been in many games – just the original Resident Evil, Resident Evil 0, and Umbrella Chronicles. While she does make a cameo in the mercenaries mode of Resident Evil 5, it’s easy to see why she’s not as prominent in people’s minds.

Although she appears in only a handful of games, fans who played the earlier titles really love this character. Plus, because she was in Raccoon City, she’s often speculated to be affected by the mysterious illness known as Raccoon City Syndrome.

Rebecca continues to work with the BSAA, so she could easily join Chris’ team as a consultant. Her background in biochemistry would be a valuable asset.

7. Sheva Alomar

Sheva!

Sheva is likely one of the least-seen characters in the Resident Evil series, possibly even less than Rebecca. This could be due to Capcom responding to criticism about Chris repeatedly calling her name in Resident Evil 5.

Sheva hasn’t been in many games, so it would be great to see her return. Her history with Chris in the BSAA provides a natural way to bring her back into the story.

Sheva probably won’t be joining Chris on his next mission, as she’s expected to stay with the BSAA in West Africa. However, Chris might need her skills in the future, and because she wasn’t affected by the events in Raccoon City, she could be a valuable teammate.

6. Chris Redfield

Punch Another Boulder

It’s practically certain Chris Redfield will be in the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem DLC. Even though I’ve seen a lot of him, I still believe his inclusion would be a good thing. The DLC’s ending shows his team, The Wolves, arriving in Raccoon City to help Leon and Grace.

Since Chris’s BSAA team is involved, he’s probably going to be present. However, upcoming downloadable content will likely focus on him, as he’s another strong possibility of being affected by the lingering trauma of Raccoon City.

A downloadable content pack could focus on the protagonist working to find a cure for an illness affecting several people. This would also be a great way to reintroduce important characters from the game’s story.

5. Barry Burton

Bravo Team

Barry Burton is a memorable supporting character from the first Resident Evil game. He’s appeared in many games throughout the series and is even referenced in Resident Evil Requiem.

Requiem would be a great chance to reunite the original Bravo Team and pit them against a new danger. Maybe they could even return to the mansion where their story began.

Honestly, I’m really hoping Barry comes back to help us figure out what’s going on with the Raccoon City situation. It’d be awesome to have him on our side again. But yeah, there are tons of other characters who could get involved too, which is exciting!

4. Carlos Oliveira

Another Survivor

Carlos is one of the people who lived through the disaster in Raccoon City, and like Rebecca, he may be suffering from Raccoon City Syndrome. He hasn’t been featured in a major Resident Evil game for a while, first becoming well-known in Resident Evil 3.

After being away for a while, it’s time for Carlos to return to action. He’s currently living in South America, but the dangers facing Raccoon City are significant enough to draw him back in.

Seeing characters from the earlier games return would be fantastic, but the cast shouldn’t be limited to just Carlos; there are plenty of other important characters who deserve to reappear.

3. Claire Redfield

Brother and Sister

We were really disappointed that Claire Redfield wasn’t included in Resident Evil Requiem. She didn’t make any appearance in the game, not even as a hidden character or in any of the game’s data.

I’ll always think of Claire as Chris Redfield’s sister, but honestly, she really shined as one of the main characters in Resident Evil 2! She and Leon Kennedy were a fantastic duo, carrying the story together.

Given Claire’s past with Leon and Sherry, it would be great to see her in future downloadable content. Even a quick check-in to make sure Leon and Chris are doing alright would be fitting. Plus, logically, if Leon was affected by something, Claire would likely be affected too.

2. Jill Valentine

Fans Have Been Asking

So, there were all these rumors flying around about the new Resident Evil game, Requiem, and everyone was saying Jill Valentine would be back alongside Leon. Turns out, that wasn’t true for this game, which was a bit of a bummer. But honestly, I’m holding out hope those leaks were hinting at some DLC down the line – a girl can dream, right?

Fans have been eager to play as Jill Valentine again. It’s been a while since she was a playable character – the last time was in Resident Evil 5 when she was rescued from Wesker – and many are hoping to see her return.

The recent leaks might be referring to Jill Valentine returning in the downloadable content. She could join forces with the Wolves to help Chris, as a way of repaying him for saving her life.

1. Ada Wong

The Love Interest

Honestly, if there’s one character I’d love to see team up with Leon again, it’s Ada Wong. She was a huge help back in Resident Evil 2, getting us both out of Raccoon City when things went south. It’d be awesome to see those two work together again!

She also returned in Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 6, both games featuring Leon as a central character.

As a huge fan, I’ve always noticed Ada seems to pop up wherever Leon is, so it’s awesome she’s in Resident Evil Requiem! Honestly, I’m really hoping we get some DLC that lets us play as Ada, maybe checking in on Leon and what he’s up to. It just feels right!
