Characters Who Wont Return In One Piece

Characters Who Wont Return In One Piece

As a longtime fan of One Piece, I can’t help but reflect on the diverse cast of characters that have graced our screens over the years. Among them, there are some who stand out for their unique stories and circumstances. Gaimon, the man who fell into a treasure chest, is one such character. His life, though simple, is filled with a quiet determination that resonates deeply with me.

In the intricate plotline of One Piece, the storytelling style often allows characters who’ve been away for a while to reappear. However, despite this flexible narrative setup, there are certain characters we may not see again due to specific reasons. These explanations differ for each character, but they share one commonality: it seems as though the storyline has moved on without them, making it difficult or unlikely for them to return in a significant way. These characters might have already made their final, or close-to-final, appearances within the series.

7 Nero

Probably Dead

Characters Who Wont Return In One Piece

Nero belonged to the CP9 unit, but he mastered only four out of the six Rokushiki techniques, being unfamiliar with Tekkai and Shigan. Compared to most of his peers, he was slightly less skilled, yet managed to temporarily halt Franky’s progress. However, due to his lack of experience, he was dismissed after multiple failures. Later, Rob Lucci inflicted wounds on him and threw him into the ocean during a storm called Aqua Laguna.

There hasn’t been any solid proof that Nero has perished, although it’s highly unlikely he survived the storm. Even if he did manage to survive, it’s doubtful we’d see him again in the series due to his minor role. However, at the end of the series, there might be a chance for him to reappear along with other undead characters. But given Nero’s immoral personality, probable demise, and insignificant impact on the storyline, it’s unlikely he’d make a significant comeback.

6 Hody Jones

Rapidly Aged

Characters Who Wont Return In One Piece

Hody Jones is one of the initial significant antagonists in the post-Time Skip arc of “One Piece”. He serves as the captain of the revamped Fish-Man Pirates, fervently following Arlong’s ideals despite his professed deep hatred for humans. His ambition is to seize control of Fish-Man Island, which he sees as a stepping stone towards an ambiguous global conquest. However, despite his boasts, Hody and his crew struggle to confront even the elite soldiers of Fish-Man Island without external assistance.

For this purpose, they persistently took energy boosters that temporarily amplified their physical power. This, however, caused them to age prematurely, yet it provided them with additional strength. Nevertheless, these boosters didn’t hinder their defeat and even accelerated their aging to a point where they could no longer fight. Notably, Hody consumed the most of these boosters, seemingly enduring more side effects than his comrades. Eventually, they were all jailed for their offenses.

Given their advanced age and the shift in the plot away from Fish-Man supremacist factions, it appears that Hody and his comrades have less motivation to make a proper appearance again.

3 Enel

Man On the Moon

Characters Who Wont Return In One Piece

Throughout the Skypiea storyline, it’s crucial to note that this world is distinct from the usual blue seas we see in the series. This difference is evident in characters like Enel who show little interest in the events happening below. As a self-styled “God,” Enel appears content with his rule, but he becomes frustrated in his quest to find Fairy Vearth, a tale passed down by the Birkan people.

Following his defeat by Luffy and the significant reduction in his power on Skypiea, his attention shifted towards locating the Fairy Vearth. Intriguingly, this celestial body turned out to be none other than our very own moon. Enel eventually encountered robots on the moon, who were there to seek retribution for their deceased creator, killed in an explosion caused by aliens that had detonated a blast on the lunar surface. Outraged by these aliens desecrating the Fairy Vearth, he took it upon himself to knock them unconscious. Using his electric abilities to resurrect the fallen robots, he uncovered a vast underground army of them, as well as traces linking the sky-dwelling races. He then decided to claim rule over the moon.

If we look at Enel’s apparent contentment with this objective and the fact that it doesn’t appear to harm many people, it’s hard to imagine him returning, unless his lunar base becomes relevant in some way.

2 Jozu

In Hiding

Characters Who Wont Return In One Piece

Jozu was an influential figure within the Whitebeard Pirates, serving as one of its 16 Division Commanders, specifically commanding the Third Division. His unique Devil Fruit ability enabled him to morph his body into a nearly unbreakable diamond form; however, this transformation came at the expense of mobility. Positioned strategically, Jozu could withstand even a powerful strike from Dracule Mihawk, the world’s most skilled swordsman, without sustaining any harm.

Following the deaths of their leader, Whitebeard, and comrade Ace in the Summit War, it appeared as if the Whitebeard Pirates had come to an end. This was further demonstrated during the Payback War, where the remaining crew was defeated by the Blackbeard Pirates. Since then, they have largely disappeared from sight, with many of their members’ current locations unknown.

There’s a possibility that character Jozu might reappear, especially if the fate of the remaining crew members develops further. However, there’s not much indication of this happening at the moment. For now, it seems like he might be laying low somewhere, but his exact whereabouts remain unknown.

1 Gaimon

Guarding the Island of Rare Animals

Characters Who Wont Return In One Piece

Gaimon is a man who stumbled upon a treasure chest, and is said to be the favorite character of Eiichiro Oda, the author of “One Piece.” Over time, his hair grew long, giving him an unusual yet endearing appearance. Luffy found him so intriguing that he asked him to join the Straw Hat Pirates. However, Gaimon declined, as he had grown fond of the rare animals on the island and felt a sense of responsibility towards their protection.

Since then, he formed a bond with fellow potential emperor, Buggy, during his brief time on the island. Sarfunkel, who seems to be living there permanently, is trapped in a barrel much like him. They appear to be romantically linked as she often feeds him affectionately. The two of them, along with others, were among those listening to Vegapunk’s message, but their continued presence might not be shown again. Gaimon’s limited participation on the island is not only due to his wish to stay but also because of his insignificant importance and weak combat skills.
