In the game ‘Last Epoch’, there are two primary factions that can be allied with, each offering distinct methods for player empowerment. The Circle of Fortune and Merchant’s Guild both aid players in acquiring powerful gear, but their approaches to achieving this are markedly dissimilar.

2. The Dominion: An order focused on mastering arcane knowledge and harnessing its power. Perfect for magic-oriented characters or those who enjoy strategic gameplay.

3. The Cult: A secretive organization with dark intentions, providing powerful artifacts in exchange for favors. Great for players seeking challenge and intrigue.

4. The Syndicate: A group of rogue traders and mercenaries offering lucrative contracts and opportunities for loot acquisition. Best suited for players who enjoy earning rewards through combat.

Circle of Fortune or the Merchant’s Guild in Last Epoch

In a nutshell, the Circle of Fortune caters to players who derive satisfaction from obtaining items through gameplay, whereas the Merchant’s Guild appeals more to those who enjoy interacting with other players via trading. Once you reach Act 9 and finish one of Zarrick’s quests, you can choose to join either of these factions.

If you pick a side with one character during the game, each subsequent character you control can choose their faction at the start within the Keeper’s Camp.

Circle of Fortune

By becoming part of the Circle of Fortune, gamers will experience an enhanced increase in their rewards during gameplay. The Circle’s unique advantages influence loot distribution in diverse manners; for example, it may slightly raise the odds of enemies dropping double the regular amount of items, or it could make entire Item Sets appear instead of just a single item from a Set.

Additionally, this group presents prophetic tasks, or smaller objectives that players can accomplish for extra rewards in the form of loot. For instance, successfully defeating a boss or a set amount of elite adversaries as indicated by a prophecy may result in the guaranteed acquisition of a rare Unique weapon.

For novice players, I’d suggest giving “Circle of Fortune” a try, as it significantly enhances your treasure hunting adventure and makes the game more captivating. It’s advisable to also use a loot filter, since the influx of items might become a bit too much.

Merchant’s Guild

Fundamentally, the Merchant’s Guild serves as Last Epoch’s trading platform. It allows players to both acquire and offload items amongst themselves, providing a direct way for individuals to obtain the items they require for their character builds.

As a gamer, I’ve found that the Merchant’s Guild doesn’t provide any tangible benefits in terms of faction bonuses. Instead, the ranks within the guild function like licenses, granting me permission to purchase specific types or tiers of equipment. However, if I’m dreaming of acquiring Legendary items, I’ll need to work hard and increase my reputation within the guild first before I can lay my hands on them.

The Merchant’s Guild is suggested for experienced players because costly items are typically abundant there. It’s usually advantageous to begin with the Circle of Fortune first to accumulate merchandise, and then join the Merchant’s Guild at a later stage, enabling you to sell the gear you’ve acquired through farming.
