Citadelle des Morts: How to Get the Bastard Sword – Black Ops 6

As a seasoned zombie slayer with countless hours spent in the undead realms of Black Ops 6, I can confidently say that the quest for the Bastard Swords in Citadelle des Morts is one of the most exhilarating challenges yet! The thrill of hacking, slashing, and parrying against the relentless hordes is unparalleled.

In the perilous zombie-infested territories of the French castle, Citadelle des Morts, within Black Ops 6, players set off on an adventure to unveil the formidable power hidden in the map’s unique Wonder Weapon – the 4 Swords. To advance and collect the upgraded versions, this quest commences with a starting Bastard Sword. Four distinctive Bastard Swords are available for claim in the Zombies mode of Black Ops 6.

For each Bastard Sword, there’s a distinctive title, connected mission, and enhancement, and this guide will help players discover how to acquire the Bastard Sword in Citadelle des Morts. This way, everyone can experience the excitement of hacking, slicing, and deflecting against undead masses.

Step 1: Open the Castle and Activate Pack-a-Punch

To start, gamers should swiftly unfold their map for easy access, enabling them to power up the Pack-a-Punch Machine at the earliest opportunity. This action triggers a sequence of steps for the easter egg quest and unlocks the hidden Alchemical Lab room that links the Dining Hall and Sitting Rooms. Keep in mind that activating Pack-a-Punch requires approximately 7,500 Points. Aim to prepare your routes before reaching Round 10.

The main room that players want to have access to inside the castle is the Dining Hall. In this room, players will find Vulture Aid, along with four stone statues of knights, which will be further explained in the steps to follow.

Step 2: Kill a Templar Helmet Zombie After Round 10+

During your exploration of Citadelle des Morts, you may encounter a Templar Knight Zombie sporting a helmet. This special zombie appears at random, but only on Round 10 and beyond. The Templar Knight Zombie is crucial for obtaining the Bastard Sword, as defeating it will result in dropping a Stamp. Players can collect this Stamp, which functions like a key to unlock the Bastard Sword. If you’re having trouble getting the Templar zombie to appear, make sure you’re on Round 10 or later and keep exploring the castle, waiting for one to spawn. Note that Templar zombies are not related to the main horde of undead; they spawn independently and at random.

Step 3: Use the Stamp to Interact with Any Stone Knight Statue

Once you’ve obtained the Stamp, make your way to the Dining Hall. Here, you’ll encounter four knight statues, each bearing a unique crest. The emblem on each knight determines the type of sword upgrade you can receive by using the Stamp on the statues. You don’t need to deliberate over which sword you desire, as every player, even those playing alone, can obtain all four swords during a single game.

For a clearer view of which statue corresponds to which sword, the picture above labels the names of the knights that players can engage with. Additionally, the table beneath could offer further help for those who require it.

Knight Statue Sword Variant Location
Stag Knight Durendal (Electric) Front Left of the room, in front of some wooden boxes
Raven Knight Bulmang (Dark) Back Left of the room, with dragon graffiti behind it
Dragon Knight Caliburn (Fire) Front Right of the room, with a red couch behind it
Lion Knight Solais (Light) Back Right of the room, with a red crystal above it

After selecting a knight, players simply need to move towards them. The knight will extend their blade for players to take. Once taken, the blade becomes the player’s melee weapon, replacing the one they had initially. To acquire the Bastard Sword, players should press and hold R3. If needed, players can return the Bastard Sword to the statue to switch back to their original melee weapon or obtain a new one.

Enhance the power of Bastard Swords further by utilizing the Melee Macchiato Perk-a-Cola, a boost you can find in the courtyard area that leads to the Village Ramparts, when playing the game.
