Key Takeaways
- Hero Equipment in Clash of Clans offers various upgrades using different ores and two rarities: Common and Epic.
- Acquiring ores is challenging, players must strategically choose equipment to invest in.
- Each piece of equipment for the Archer Queen has unique abilities, strengths, and weaknesses, catering to different strategies and playstyles.
As a seasoned Clash of Clans player with countless hours spent strategizing and perfecting my village layout, I must say that the Giant Gauntlet is an absolute game-changer for the Barbarian King. Its potential for devastating damage, especially when protected by a tank or clones, is simply astounding.
Ever since its December 2023 launch, the introduction of Hero Equipment in Clash of Clans has sparked intense discussion and left a significant mark. This update brought about a novel structure, the blacksmith, which serves as a hub for enhancing equipment using three distinct types of ore: shiny (blue), glowy (purple) and starry (gold). Additionally, there are two classes of equipment – Common and Epic. The Common equipment caps at level 18, whereas the more elusive Epic equipment can be upgraded to level 27.
With each Hero only having two equipment slots available, choosing the right equipment to pair together is crucial. Additionally, ores aren’t as easy to acquire as other resources since they cannot be raided from other villages. With Hero Equipment balance changes coming, it has never been more important for players to know which equipment they should invest their hard-earned ore in. When it comes to the Archer Queen, here are the best picks.
6 Archer Puppet
Summons A Gang Of Archers
- Ability Type: Active
- Archers Summoned: 35
- Health Recovery: 440
- DPS Increase: 144
Among the two initial items the Queen possesses is an entity known as the Archery Doll. This doll conjures a band of Archers who excel at massing and overpowering single-focus defensive structures. They inflict substantial damage in groups and safeguard the Archer Queen by diverting defenses from her. However, when confronted with area-of-effect defenses such as Wizard Towers, Scattershots, or multiple-target Inferno Towers, they are swiftly overpowered.
Due to this enhancement, the summoned Archers become undetectable for approximately 6.5 seconds, boosting their survivability and attack power. However, this stealth feature doesn’t protect them from harm when near the Queen or traps like bombs, which can still trigger and eliminate them. In essence, while the Archer Puppet can be effective in certain situations, it is limited in its applications and significantly weaker compared to other equipment alternatives.
5 Giant Arrow
Shoots A Giant Piercing Arrow That Crosses The Entire Village
- Blacksmith Level Required: 2 (Town Hall 9)
- Ability Type: Active
- Damage: 1,950
- Hitpoint Increase: 581
- DPS Increase: 132
Unlike the Archer Queen’s other equipment choices, the
Giant Arrow
is best used immediately after deploying the Queen to maximize its
destructive capabilities
. The key to this is
lining up the Queen with key defenses that players want to soften up or destroy
. Due to the Giant Arrow’s fairly low damage, it often won’t destroy buildings, particularly defenses. When paired with Earthquake or Lightning Spells, it can; however, this takes skill, knowledge, and practice to master.
Clash Of Clans: 7 Best Siege Machines, Ranked
The Giant Arrow possesses the ability to inflict significant damage or even obliterate critical fortifications on its own, particularly Air Sweepers, which can serve as a precursor for an offensive air assault. However, due to its limited utility in various situations, other equipment options might be more dependable and versatile.
4 Healer Puppet
Summons A Flock Of Healers
- Blacksmith Level Required: 5 (Town Hall 12)
- Ability Type: Active
- Healer’s Summoned: 3
- Self-Healing Per Second: 35
- Hitpoint Increase: 968
Healer Puppet greatly increases the Archer Queen’s survivability by providing her with more hitpoints and a good amount of healing.
It is a versatile equipment that can be used immediately to provide the Queen with Healers, or can be activated later when the Queen needs healing. Therefore, it can be paired with a range of other equipment depending on a players’ strategy. A popular strategy from Town Hall 9 and up is Queen Charge, which involves the Queen being paired with five Healers and some spells to clear out a portion of the base on her own. However, adding any more than five Healers to a Hero has no effect, so the Healer Puppet is rarely used in this strategy.
Instead of having three Healers occupying 42 camp spaces, this arrangement leaves extra room for additional troops when players plan to incorporate Healers into their military force. Furthermore, these Healers have the ability to mend other soldiers nearby, making them more beneficial if the Queen is either defeated or already at full health. The Healer Puppet is a powerful choice, but alternative equipment selections provide higher damage output, making them more suitable for the Queen in a Queen Charge or as a supportive unit.
3 Magic Mirror
Summons Clones Of The Archer Queen
- Ability Type: Active
- Clones Summoned: 2
- Health Recovery: 891
- Hitpoint Increase: 861
As the latest epic equipment added to the game, the
Magic Mirror
hasn’t had much time for players to figure it out. As such, comparing it to the Queen’s other equipment choices is difficult. If players didn’t unlock it during the 12th anniversary event, it will soon be available in the Trader for 1,500 gems, but is it worth it? The hitpoint buff and health recovery help to increase the Queen’s survivability, and the one second of invisibility means that
any defenses targeting her will instead target her clones,
each of which have 3,216 health at maximum level. Additionally, they deal 765 damage per second, and last for up to a maximum of 30 seconds.
Clash of Clans: How to Get the Giant Gauntlet
Given that the Queen and her clones are safeguarded by a tank, this equipment could inflict substantial harm. Conversely, if the Queen is on her own, the clones can shield her during a Queen Charge. This equipment becomes more proficient as it levels up, but due to its epic status, it’s costly to enhance. From level 18, the Magic Mirror starts summoning two clones, thereby doubling its potency. If players manage to upgrade it to level 18, they should find it beneficial to use. In essence, the Magic Mirror provides a balanced combination of damage, healing, and protection.
2 Invisibility Vial
Turns The Queen Invisible And Gives Her Stronger Attacks
- Ability Type: Active
- Invisibility Duration: 7.8 seconds
- Hitpoint Increase: 700
The Invisibility Vial is the second equipment the Archer Queen starts with, and it’s a powerful one too. Not only does it increase the Queen’s survivability by making her invisible for 7.8 seconds, but it also increases her damage per shot by 1,740 for the duration. This helps her destroy high hitpoint buildings, such as the Town Hall, while invisible. However, players must be careful to activate the ability before the Queen’s health gets too low, otherwise she can be defeated before the invisibility can save her.
As a gamer, I’ve found the Invisibility Potion to be quite effective in a Queen Charge, especially when my Queen is squaring off against an Inferno Tower or Monolith on a one-on-one basis. These structures can dish out some serious damage, but with the Invisibility Potion, my Queen becomes nearly invincible against them. This potion is an excellent pick for any strategy, as it not only deals significant damage but also ensures my Queen’s survival.
1 Frozen Arrow
Icy Arrows Slow Down The Targets They Hit
- Ability Type: Passive
- DPS Increase: 168
The Frozen Arrow is a remarkable equipment for the Archer Queen that performs exceptionally well when used in combination with other gear. If players haven’t already unlocked it, they can purchase it for 1,500 gems from the Trader. This item works passively to enhance the Archer Queen’s damage per second and slow down targets she hits for three seconds, significantly reducing their movement speed and offensive capabilities. It is particularly potent against key defensive structures like Inferno Towers, Scattershots, X-Bows, and the Monolith, as well as defending Heroes and Clan Castle Troops.
In any strategy, the decelerating ability of the Frozen Arrow proves beneficial, even when utilized in a Queen Charge. Yet, this skill can only affect the target that the Queen is currently attacking. Consequently, if she encounters multiple defenses simultaneously, she may become overpowered and defeated. As the optimal gear for the Queen, the Frozen Arrow is set to receive a nerf, reducing its slow effect from 75% to 65%. This adjustment weakens the Frozen Arrow slightly, but it remains the most adaptable and potent choice for the Queen.
