Having grown up with these iconic games, it’s heartening to see them being revisited and updated for a new generation of players.
The classic “Final Fantasy” games are set to be re-released once more, as Square Enix has unveiled the “Final Fantasy 1-6 Collection Edition.” This edition brings together the first six games in the series, along with several additional bonuses. Slated for release later this year on October 8, it will be available for both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch consoles. The package includes all the “Final Fantasy” Pixel Remaster titles in one bundle and can now be pre-ordered from the Square Enix website at a price of $74.99.
For many years, enthusiasts of the renowned Final Fantasy franchise had to play it via various fragmented ports, remasters, and re-releases on outdated systems. However, when Square Enix launched the Pixel Remaster series on Steam in 2022, fans were overjoyed. The remastered versions subsequently became available as digital-only titles for the PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch, and eventually, a limited physical version, the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection, was released on the Switch.

Square Enix Announces New Collection Edition of Remastered Final Fantasy Games

As a dedicated gamer diving into the world of retro gaming, I’ve been thrilled by the Pixel Remasters, bringing back these classic games that I fondly remember from the ’80s and ’90s, making them accessible again on modern home consoles. It feels like we’re one step closer to having every mainline Final Fantasy game at my fingertips on a single platform!
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but be excited about the Final Fantasy 1-6 Collection Edition. This collection seems like it could be a prized addition to any serious fan’s library.
