Cloud9 recently caused confusion among Rainbow Six Siege fans when they briefly posted a message saying goodbye to their current team on social media. Although the post was quickly taken down, it sparked worry and speculation about the future of the team’s players.
A message listing the team’s full roster appeared briefly before being taken down, creating confusion among players and coaches. Charles ‘Vivid’ Stahelek, for example, said the post was unclear and didn’t indicate that any players were being cut.
What’s Happening with Cloud9 in Rainbow Six?
Dream and Vivid suggest that Cloud9’s recent, attention-grabbing post wasn’t about the team falling apart. It was more of a thank you to the players for their work over the past year, and a signal that they’re free to consider offers from other esports organizations if they receive any.
Just to be clear, we weren’t removed from the team. They were simply expressing their gratitude for our contributions over the past year. We’re still members, but they’re allowing us to consider opportunities with other teams if any become available.

Cloud9 isn’t making any major changes to its team, but it’s allowing the players some flexibility and space to improve.
Fans were completely surprised by the news. Dream’s response, which mentioned pay cuts but clarified it wasn’t a complete firing of the team, didn’t help clear up the confusion surrounding the Rainbow Six situation – in fact, it made things even more unclear.
So, even though nothing was official yet, I noticed websites like Liquipedia were already changing the rosters to show those players had left Cloud9. It was kinda weird seeing that before any announcements!

Honestly, this whole episode just really shows how badly Cloud9’s social media team dropped the ball on communication. It’s pretty obvious they didn’t keep everyone informed, and it’s a big issue, if you ask me.
Cloud9 won’t be competing in the Six Invitational 2026, which is happening soon in Paris, France. They were eliminated in the North American Last Chance Qualifier by Oxygen Esports, who then earned a spot in the tournament.
