Code Vein 2 NPC Gifts Guide

In , you can give gifts to NPCs for a couple of key benefits. First, NPCs will reward you with Trading Points, which you can use to purchase items from their shops. Second, giving gifts increases your relationship with these characters. This guide explains everything you need to know about gift-giving in to help you fully understand how it works.

Giving gifts helps you become friends with characters in the game, but it’s not the only way to become best friends and unlock the ‘Irreplaceable’ achievement. You’ll need to do more than just give gifts!

How Gift Giving Works in Code Vein 2

In Code Vein 2, every character you meet has thoughts on the valuable items you can give them. These opinions – whether they love, like, are neutral towards, or dislike an item – affect how many Trading Points you earn when you give it as a gift. Here’s how those opinions translate into points:

  • Love: 7
  • Neutral: 2
  • Dislike: 1

NPCs will happily accept food gifts over and over, and they’ll even like some foods more than others – rewarding you with Trading Points based on their preferences. However, if you give the same item repeatedly, you’ll only get about two-thirds of its usual Trading Point value. For instance, if an NPC doesn’t have a strong opinion about a particular food, you might earn one or two points each time you gift it.

Giving gifts earns you Trading Points and also improves your relationship with NPCs. As you build a stronger relationship, new weapons will become available in their Trading Point shops. There’s even an achievement for reaching maximum relationship level with a partner NPC, but it takes more than just gifts to unlock it.

Gift Giving Strategy in Code Vein 2

Now that you understand the basics of gifting, you might want to learn how to quickly earn Trading Points from NPCs. Here’s a simple strategy that works for all your characters.

  1. Start by giving the NPC their loved valuables. Each character has two valuables that they love, and they are listed in the table in the section below.
  2. If you have obtained the recipe for the NPC’s loved food item (listed in the table below), and have access to an infinite source of the ingredients that are used to make it, repeatedly synthesize that food item and gift it to the character.
  3. If you do not have the loved food item recipe, repeatedly synthesize Boiled Eggs and gift them to the NPC.

Boiled Eggs

Okay, so if you’re looking for a gift you can just keep giving in this game, Boiled Eggs are the way to go. They’re super easy and cheap to make – you only need one Egg per egg! And the best part? You can buy as many Eggs as you want from Jadwgia’s minion near the Refugee Village mistle in Sunken City (it’s marked on the map up above) for just 50 Haze each. Seriously, it’s a lifesaver when you need to farm gifts!
