College Football 25 Sees Over 2 Million Players Before Full Release

As a die-hard college football fan and longtime video game enthusiast, I can’t contain my excitement for the success of EA Sports College Football 25! The fact that over 2.8 million unique players jumped into the action during the early access period is simply mind-blowing. I’ve followed this game closely since its announcement and was hopeful that it would be a hit based on the buzz around it, but the actual sales and player numbers have exceeded even my highest expectations.

The release of EA Sports College Football 25 is now open to the public, yet its popularity has already thrived for over three days. According to EA Sports, approximately 2.2 million distinct gamers engaged in College Football 25 during this initial three-day preview.

Additionally, about 600,000 more players joined in through the EA Play’s 10-hour free trial, bringing the total number of participants to over 2.8 million.

Previously, TopMob announced that the game was projected to generate mid-$100 million in revenue for it to be considered successful. With the number of players who bought the $99.99 Deluxe Edition having exceeded this figure, a straightforward calculation suggests that Deluxe Edition sales have already reached approximately $220 million.

“According to a source, there was an sense of excitement based on high trailer viewership and online engagement. However, the unexpected surge in sales and player numbers leaves them speechless.”

I was thrilled to hear Mat Piscatella from Circana share some interesting insights last Thursday. According to him, on Xbox, the game ranked third in terms of daily active users, trailing behind Call of Duty and Fortnite. As for the PlayStation 5, it held the fourth position, with Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Grand Theft Auto 5 leading the way.

College Football 25 is available now for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
