11 years ago, the first installment of a college football game was enthusiastically welcomed by fans who received the Deluxe Edition on July 15th. In its debut week, the game boasted more than 5 million players.

A source close to the game’s release shared with TopMob that there was an expectation, stemming from the number of trailer views and online engagement, that it would be extraordinary. However, the shift from digital hype to actual sales and player numbers has left them speechless.

For EA Sports, both College Football 25 and Madden 25 saw a significant improvement in July. The combined MVP Bundle of these two games ranked as the second highest selling title during that month. Remarkably, College Football 25 managed to secure the top spot twice for the month.

In terms of annual sales, College Football 25 has surpassed Helldivers 2 to become the best-selling game of 2024 so far. Additionally, the MVP Bundle is also among the year’s top sellers, currently ranked at position 5.
