In simple terms, EA Sports College Football 26 was America’s most purchased video game during July 2026. This is the second consecutive year that this game claimed the number one position in sales when it was launched in a specific month.
Based on new findings from Circana, College Football 26 has moved into first place, pushing Elden Ring: Nightreign down to 16th position from its leading spot in May and June.
After the popularity of College Football 26, it’s back for more – sort of. The EA Sports MVP Bundle, consisting of both College Football 26 and Madden 26, landed in second place in sales. Following this, the exclusive Nintendo Switch 2 game Donkey Kong Banazna, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 & 4, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 took center stage.
Five fresh games made their way into the Top 20 rankings. Remarkably, four out of these new releases ended up in the Top 5. The other newly released game, titled Grounded 2, managed to secure the eight position.
Five fresh entries climbed into the Top 20, along with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 returning, resulting in six games being bumped out of the ranking. Exiting the Top 20 are Stellar Blade, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, Mario Kart World, and Elden Ring.
