The Xbox Game Pass service from Microsoft has included a new day-one launch, “Commandos: Origins,” in its continually evolving selection of games. With the recent disclosure of Nintendo Switch 2’s pricing and game costs, more people are acknowledging the benefits of an Xbox Game Pass subscription, even those who hadn’t given it much thought before.
Xbox Game Pass comes in four levels: PC, Core, Standard, and Ultimate. The PC and Ultimate versions provide numerous day-one games, making them perfect for those eager to play fresh releases right away. However, the other categories have their own perks too, such as online multiplayer options and member benefits like discounts. With a Core subscription, you get access to a selection of 25 console games that changes over time, while the Standard tier boasts hundreds of titles for your gaming pleasure.
Game Pass subscribers at PC and Ultimate tiers can now play “Commandos: Origins”, which was launched on April 9th. The Commandos series originally consisted of five real-time tactics games, released between 1998 and 2006. Notably, “Commandos 2” and “3” received HD remasters in 2022. Therefore, “Commandos: Origins” marks the first new game in the series in about two decades, sparking excitement among fans since its development by Claymore Game Studios was announced.

It’s essential to grasp each character’s unique abilities and weapons, as they play a significant role in your victory. This new installment boasts incredibly detailed and lifelike 3D isometric graphics. The diverse locations in the game hold additional objectives and collectibles that you can discover.
For Xbox Game Pass subscribers, there’s even more excitement coming in April! Starting from April 8, the action-adventure game “South of Midnight,” developed by “We Happy Few” creators Compulsion Games, has been added to the service. On April 10, another title, the strategy puzzle game “Blue Prince,” will join the lineup. Lastly, the much-anticipated turn-based RPG “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33” is set to be available on day one, specifically on April 24.
As a dedicated fan myself, I’m thrilled to share that we, the subscribers, have been given an exclusive sneak peek into what Xbox Game Pass has in store for us in May. On May 8 and 15 respectively, Ultimate subscribers like me will get to explore “Revenge of the Savage Planet” and “DOOM: The Dark Ages”. And let me tell you, there’s a whole lot more excitement brewing, with plenty of new additions coming for all tiers of membership.
