Common Pokemon Go mistake will cost you the best attackers

As a seasoned Pokemon Go trainer with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a pang of regret every time I remember the Shadow Pokemon that I once purified out of ignorance. The community’s recent discussions on this topic have brought back memories of my own “purified regrets.”

Transforming a Shadow Pokemon into a Perfect (Hundo) one in Pokemon Go might appear to be an evident choice, but some players regretfully miss out on a significant opportunity by doing so.

As a gamer, I’d describe it like this: A Shadow Pokemon I have gains an impressive 20% increase in damage dealt in battles. However, there’s a catch – it also loses the same percentage of its health points. Despite having a zero IV (statistically inferior) version, the enhanced offensive power of my Shadow Pokemon makes it a stronger contender than a non-Shadow species with perfect IVs.

Many trainers were uninformed about this benefit, and one of them, identified as ‘Soda_Coke_Addict’ on Reddit, inquired about others’ “regrets purified” within the community.

Some users expressed surprise over the advantages of Shadow Pokemon, leading them to purify precious and strong catches unwittingly.

One player took it upon themselves to weaken their Shadow Gible with moves of 15-14-14 in its IVs (Individual Values), causing other players to tease or mock them for giving up a notably powerful Shadow Garchomp with similar IVs.

Some trainers were surprised that a Pokemon with a high IV (Individual Value) score of 100 was weaker than a lower IV Shadow Pokemon. A fan responded, explaining, “IVs don’t have a significant impact. Rarely should you purify Shadow Pokémon as it’s generally not worth the effort.”

Despite having a zero Attack IV, Shadows still outperform perfectly statted Pokemon due to their 1.2x damage multiplier. This advantage is particularly useful in Go Battle League and Raids with time constraints when quick moves are essential.

Fans find the higher cost of Stardust to power up Shadow Pokemon to be justified due to the impressive rewards. For example, a fully maximized Shadow Mamoswine is capable of defeating a Rayquaza RaID boss with the use of Revives.

In addition, Shadow shinies stand out in the metagame for their strength, but they’re scarcely found and make desirable additions to any collection. However, remember that you cannot trade them.

To find excellent Shadow Pokemon in Pokemon Go, it’s essential to defeat Team Go Rocket Grunts, leaders, and their head, Giovanni.
