Complete Sparks Fly Mission in ARC Raiders Step-by-Step Guide

ARC Raiders features challenging missions that reward players with valuable items like gear and blueprints, helping them survive in the Topside. One particularly difficult mission, Sparks Fly, is proving troublesome for new players to complete.

This guide will help you master the “Sparks Fly” challenge. We’ll cover what you need to do, the most effective way to complete it, and how to fix a frustrating bug that can stop you from making progress.

How to Complete Sparks Fly Mission for Apollo in ARC Raiders

Once players have finished helping Shani and Celeste with their surveys, Apollo will ask for their help testing his new explosives against ARC enemies. One of these tests is the well-known “What Goes Around” mission, and the next one, called “Sparks Fly,” requires players to destroy Hornets using either Trigger’ Nades or Snap Blast Grenades.

Completing this task is challenging, as players must avoid being targeted by a Hornet – and that’s just the beginning. They’ll also face other enemies like Wasps and, potentially, a Rocketeer. To make things even harder, other players might try to eliminate them while they’re focused on the mission. Here’s a simple guide to help you finish quickly.

If using Trigger’ Nades

To successfully complete the mission, ensure the Hornet is destroyed by the grenade blast itself, and not by crashing into walls or the ground. Here’s how to do it.

  1. Step near a door and make sure there’s a Hornet around.
  2. Draw its attention by shooting it, preferably, with an equipped Silencer.
  3. Wait until the Hornet is near the door and wait unti lit shoots.
  4. Use the door frame to cover and immediately prepare the Trigger’ Nade.
  5. Aim for the lower side of the Hornet (belly) and stick the Trigger’ Nade there.
  6. Close the door and press the trigger to destroy the Hornet.

A problem was preventing players from finishing a quest, but it has now been resolved. If you’re struggling to defeat the Hornets using the Trigger’ Nade or Snap Blast explosion, try damaging them with a few shots first before throwing the grenades.

If using Snap Blast

Always have at least two Snap Blast grenades with you. When fighting Hornets, make sure you’re away from walls and rooftops when you throw them. The explosion can push you into these objects, stopping you from continuing the mission. Here’s how to use Snap Blast grenades to defeat a Hornet:

  1. Approach the Hornet while it’s distracted and attach a Snap Blast to its bottom.
  2. Follow up with a single shot from an Anvil or Ferro, then wait for the Snap Blast to trigger.
  3. Use two Snap Blast Grenades in quick succession to ensure the Hornet is destroyed.

It’s crucial to do this quickly to prevent the ARC drone from crashing into walls or the ground and potentially exploding.
