The developer of Stardew Valley, ConcernedApe, has announced that updates are coming soon to fix some bugs in the Nintendo Switch 2 version. Stardew Valley, created by Eric Barone, is a hugely popular and influential indie farming game that helped kickstart the current trend of cozy and relaxing games. It’s been released on many different platforms, including consoles and mobile devices, and recently became available on Nintendo’s latest console.
The updated version of Stardew Valley launched on December 25th for the Switch 2, offering improvements on Nintendo’s latest console. It now supports up to four players locally on one screen and eight players online. A new feature called GameShare lets players try the game even if they don’t own it. The Switch 2 version also fully supports mouse controls using the Joy-Con 2. Recent updates are now available to fix bugs and further refine a new feature within the game.

Recent months have brought exciting news for Stardew Valley fans, including updates coming to the Switch 2 Edition and the announcement of a new 1.7 update. While developer ConcernedApe hasn’t revealed a release date for the 1.7 patch, the news was a pleasant surprise considering he’s also working on another game, Haunted Chocolatier. ConcernedApe has expressed a long-term commitment to Stardew Valley, even suggesting the game could receive updates for decades to come.
Image via ConcernedApe As a huge fan, I’m still amazed by how incredibly popular Stardew Valley remains, almost ten years after it first came out! It’s consistently ranked as one of the best indie games ever, and it’s sold over 41 million copies – that’s amazing! I also think Stardew Valley really kicked off the whole farming sim craze we’ve seen lately, inspiring tons of other developers, both indie and big studios, to create their own versions. And with ConcernedApe still working on it, it just gives me even more reason to keep playing for years to come!
