Concord Gets Playable Fan-Made Revival on PC

The multiplayer shooter Concord, which was canceled by PlayStation earlier this year, is being revived by fans on PC.

Concord was a team-based shooter unveiled in 2023, and it was the first game from Firewalk Studios. Inspired by space operas like Star Wars, it received a generally positive response. Unfortunately, despite this, Sony shut it down after just two weeks because it didn’t meet their high expectations, and Firewalk Studios followed suit. Luckily, dedicated fans have managed to bring the game back online.

A Playable Version of Concord Has Been Developed on PC

Okay, so I just saw a video of actual gameplay for Concord on PC, and it’s amazing! This is thanks to a group – Red, Real, and Gwog – who’ve been working hard to get the game running again. They basically rebuilt parts of it and did some reverse engineering to get custom servers up and running. It’s not fully public yet – you’ll need to check out their Discord if you’re interested – and it’s still a work in progress, but a lot of the game is actually playable! It’s really cool to see it back in action.

It’s great to see Concord playable again, even if the original plans changed. We may never know what Firewalk Studios envisioned, but at least the core game is available. It’s really remarkable that a small team managed to get a PlayStation 5 game working on PC through hard work and technical expertise. It will be interesting to follow the playtests and see if Sony responds to this effort.
