CONTROL Resonant Release Window Set for Q2 2026

A release window has been set for the next game in the Control franchise.

Remedy Entertainment revealed at The Game Awards 2025 that the sequel to their hit game, CONTROL, will launch in 2026. Officially titled CONTROL Resonant, the new game was confirmed to release in the second quarter of 2026 in filings with investors.

We’re now expecting Control Resonant to launch at the end of the second quarter of 2026, later than our initial expectation of the first half of 2027. This change has significantly impacted our financial forecasts. We also previously believed that Remedy wouldn’t include Annapurna’s portion of game sales in its revenue, but it now appears that it will. As a result, our revenue projections have increased, though Annapurna’s share will be shown as an expense. Overall, our estimate of Control Resonant’s profitability for Remedy over the first three years hasn’t changed much. We now anticipate royalties from the Max Payne project will begin in 2027, instead of the fourth quarter of 2026, even if the game is released in 2026. We project Control Resonant will sell around 1.8 million copies in 2026 and 2.2 million in 2027. This leads us to forecast Remedy’s revenue will exceed 120 million euros in 2026-2027, with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) exceeding 20 million euros. The outlook for strong game sales is positive, given that the original Control has sold over 5 million copies and has been played by over 20 million people across different platforms.

More Information on CONTROL Resonant

The game takes place in a reimagined version of Manhattan. Players will experience the story through the eyes of Dylan Faden, developing unique supernatural powers. And according to the developers, the mysteries and strangeness will only deepen as they reveal more about the game.

New York City is facing an unprecedented and dangerous paranormal event, and the Federal Bureau of Control is struggling to contain it. They send Dylan Faden, a former prisoner, to confront a powerful, otherworldly being that’s changing reality itself. As Dylan, you’ll need to use your newly discovered powers to battle a variety of incredibly strange and challenging enemies.

The battle will lead you through twisted and unrecognizable parts of Manhattan. A strange cosmic power has warped the city, breaking the laws of physics, messing with gravity, and turning it into a dangerous, chaotic landscape.

Both CONTROL and the Alan Wake games take place in the same fictional world. The latest Alan Wake game has already sold over 2 million copies – you can find more details about it here.

TopMob will provide updates on the next CONTROL game as more information becomes available.
