The Controlled Access Zone is a valuable loot area added to ARC Raiders in the Shrouded Sky update, found on Dam Battlegrounds. It’s full of containers with good items, and players can unlock an even better loot room by solving a puzzle. This puzzle involves pressing four buttons in the correct order, but it’s unique: it can’t be done alone or even with your team. You’ll need to work together with other friendly players to solve it.
How to Solve the Controlled Access Zone Button Puzzle in ARC Raiders
To solve the button puzzle in the Controlled Access Zone of ARC Raiders, you need to enter the Dam Battlegrouds area using one of the three available entrances (shown on the map). It’s important to play the game by yourself and ensure you’re in a PvE lobby.
To open the door, you need to press all four buttons at the same time – something your team of three can’t do on its own. You’ll need help from other players and raiders to get inside.
Raids with two or three players often involve player-versus-player combat, so I suggest tackling the Controlled Access Zone button puzzle in ARC Raiders by going in alone.
On your way to the location, use the nearby voice chat to find three other players who are willing to help you solve the puzzle and share the rewards equally. Because this is new content, most players will probably be happy to join you.
Unlocking the First Door by Pressing Four Buttons

After entering the Controlled Access Zone, your first step is to find the battery on the ground floor. It’s probably near the generator in the adjacent room, or in the clear, open area. Once you have it, put the battery into the panel on the top floor, across from the main office.

There are two buttons in the Controlled Access Zone that don’t move. The first is inside the main office, visible through the windows, and becomes accessible once you’ve powered the terminal with a battery. The second button is to the left of the locked door, which has four lights above it.
You can find the remaining two buttons close to the staircases or on top of the metal pipes – they’re much easier to spot than the puzzle at the Raider’s Refuge on Blue Gate. Once you’ve found all four buttons in the Controlled Access Zone, assign each one to a member of your party, including yourself.
Unlocking the Second Locked Door with Materials
Everyone needs to press the buttons at the same time when I count to three. If you do, the lights on the locked door will turn on and it will open. Once inside, you’ll find another locked door that you’ll need to find materials to unlock.
The items you need change with each attempt, but you’ll usually need wires, metal pieces, motors, industrial batteries, ARC power cells, and a Leaper Pulse Unit. Once you’ve collected everything, use them on the door panel to your left to unlock the next door and access the loot room inside the Controlled Access Zone.
After you solve the button puzzle in the Controlled Access Zone in ARC Raiders, you’ll unlock a large loot room with plenty of gear for everyone. The bottom floor is full of valuable items, like weapons found on control panels, containers you can break open, and weapon crates.
Okay, so I found out there’s a bunch more loot if you go up the stairs! Once we’ve all grabbed everything up there, we should get out of there quickly – hopefully, nobody’s waiting to ambush us. It’s always a little nerve-wracking, hoping we don’t get caught by campers!
