The ever-popular free-to-play gacha RPG auto-battler, Cookie Run Kingdom, continues to draw players in with its latest updates, offering master mode content, fresh merchandise, and additional features. For newcomers, the game revolves around constructing cookie teams through the gacha system, then engaging these teams in both PvE and PvP battles across various modes. Players assemble their teams by selecting from diverse character roles such as defense, attack, or healing specialists. The battles unfold dynamically based on the team’s positioning and abilities, with players having the option to let the team battle automatically or manually activate abilities for a more tactical approach during fights.
In the game known as “Cookie Run Kingdom”, you’ll find over 160 unique cookies to gather. These cookies come in ten distinct rarity types, offering numerous possibilities for team formations. This article will delve into some top-tier teams suitable for Story Mode, Arena Mode, and Guild Battle Mode, as each type of battle necessitates different strategies. Since a player’s collection of cookies largely depends on luck, many of the mentioned cookies can be swapped with others that serve similar purposes, though some stand out as clear favorites. Here are some optimal builds for “Cookie Run Kingdom”.
7. Story Mode Steel Team
Boss Fight Build

Cookies & Toppings:
- Hollyberry – Draconic Raspberry (Defense / Front)
- Creampuff – Juicy Apple Jelly (Support / Rear)
- Linzer – Bouncing Caramel (Support / Rear)
- Okchun – Swift Chocolate (Healing / Middle)
- Pavlova – Searing Raspberry (Ranged / Rear)
Treasures:
- Grim-looking Scythe
- Squishy Jelly Watch
- Vial Of Raging Dunes
In the story mode, this squad is chosen for battling the bosses, particularly excelling against the Warden of the Heart. The team primarily focuses on increasing the steel gauge, with Hollyberry being the cookie that does this exceptionally well. With support from Creampuff and Linzer, Hollyberry can efficiently boost the steel gauge and deal a large amount of damage to the boss. Linzer’s debuff, Suspect, is an excellent choice for weakening bosses since none are immune to it. This team also boasts a high critical hit rate, with Pavlova, the rear-line DPS, helping to maintain this advantage while also contributing additional damage.
6. Story Mode Summoner Build
Summon Shields

Cookies & Toppings:
- Snow Sugar – Searing Raspberry (Magic / Middle)
- Prune Juice – Swift Chocolate / Searing Raspberry (Bomber / Middle)
- Pumpkin Pie – Searing Raspberry / Solid Almond (Magic / Middle)
- Cotton – Solid Almond / Swift Chocolate (Support / Rear)
- Parfait – Solid Almond / Swift Chocolate (Support / Rear)
Treasures:
- Seamstress’s Pin Cushion
- Squishy Jelly Watch
- Old Pilgrim’s Scroll
In this team composition, things might seem unconventional at first glance, as there’s no traditional front-liner or tank. Instead, these roles are fulfilled by Prune Juice, Pumpkin Pie, and Cotton, who aren’t typically considered tanks. The uniqueness lies in the fact that these characters can absorb a specific number of hits rather than damage. This makes them exceptionally effective against hard-hitting enemies, where conventional tanks might struggle.
This setup is particularly useful for the Cakehound fight in story mode, but it can also be applied to other situations. In tougher battles, players might want to manually activate their abilities to ensure the appropriate summons are brought out when necessary.
5. Guild Battle Low LV Dragon Killer Team
Guild Boss Battle Defensive Team

Cookies & Toppings:
- Crunchy Chip – Solid Almond (Charge / Front)
- Dark Choco – Juicy Apple Jelly (Charge / Front)
- Pumpkin Pie – Solid Almond (Magic / Middle)
- Cotton – Swift Chocolate (Support / Rear)
- Eclair – Solid Almond (Support / Middle)
Treasures:
- Pilgrim’s Slingshot
- Squishy Jelly Watch
- Old Pilgrim’s Scroll
This squad is primarily built for confronting Guild Bosses, ranging from early-level Dragons, and it’s effective until approximately levels 35 to 40, after which strategies might need adjustment. The major drawback is that this team consists of some scarcely found cookies, requiring players to level them up, making it less suitable for beginners. Key ingredients like Solid Almond Toppings on Crunchy Chip, Pumpkin Pie, and Eclair significantly boost the team’s survivability. Particularly, Crunchy Chip, who acts as the primary front-liner, will endure most of the damage. In fact, Crunchy Chip is indispensable to this team, as his debuff reduces the attack speed by 25% (maximally stacking up to 50%), resulting in significantly lower damage from the boss.
4. Guild Battle Poison Team
Poison Burst

Cookies & Toppings:
- Dark Choco – Juicy Apple Jelly (Charge / Front)
- Affogato – Searing Raspberry (Bomber / Middle)
- Poison Mushroom – Searing Raspberry (Bomber / Middle)
- Cotton – Swift Chocolate (Support / Rear)
- Eclair – Searing Raspberry / Juicy Apple Jelly (Support / Middle)
Treasures:
- Pilgrim’s Slingshot
- Squishy Jelly Watch
- Old Pilgrim’s Scroll
This team primarily focuses on weakening opponents (debuffing) and dealing substantial poison damage to defeat tough Guild Bosses. The primary source of poison damage comes from Affogato and Poison Mushroom Cookies, while other team members contribute mainly with their supportive effects. To maximize their attack power, they should both be equipped with a full set of Searing Raspberry toppings. Cotton’s ability keeps the team alive during battles, so it’s crucial to activate it right before the fight starts. The rest of the battle can typically run on auto-mode, but it’s essential to use Cotton’s ability on cooldown. Therefore, reducing Cotton’s cooldown is important, making a full set of Swift Chocolate toppings the ideal choice for them in this scenario.
3. Arena Mode Crit Team
PvP Double Tank Counter

Cookies & Toppings:
- Crunchy Chip – Juicy Apple Jelly (Charge / Front)
- Wildberry – Solid Almond (Defense / Front)
- Pumpkin Pie – Solid Almond (Magic / Middle)
- Sorbet Shark – Solid Almond (Ambush / Middle)
- Cotton – Swift Chocolate (Support / Rear)
Treasures:
- Seamstress’ Pin Cushion
- Squishy Jelly Watch
- Old Pilgrim’s Scroll
As a passionate gamer, I’ve tailored my Arena Mode squad to tackle formidable double-tank or tank-heavy opponents. My primary damage dealer is Crunchy Chip Cookie, who’s been sweetened with Juicy Apple Jelly toppings. Wildberry serves as our main defense and tank, sporting a full suit of Solid Almond Toppings for added protection. Pumpkin Pie, a versatile PvP character, debilitates opponents’ healing capabilities, while Cotton buffs all summons’ attacks (including Crunchy Chip) and takes care of healing duties. To maximize her efficiency, I stack Cotton with as much cooldown reduction as possible, using full Swift Chocolate Toppings. Lastly, Sorbet Shark adds extra firepower to help us tackle double tank teams, but can be easily substituted if needed.
2. Arena Mode One Shot Team
Low Rarity, High Damage

Cookies & Toppings:
- Kumiho – Swift Chocolate (Charge / Front)
- GingerBrave – Solid Almond (Charge / Front)
- Caramel Arrow – Searing Raspberry (Ranged / Front)
- Dark Cacao – Searing Raspberry (Charge / Front)
- Sea Fairy – Searing Raspberry (Bomber / Middle)
Treasures:
- Librarian’s Enchanted Robes
- Bear Jelly’s Lollipop
- Old Pilgrim’s Scroll
This squad primarily consists of less common characters, making it simple and quick to assemble. When fully developed and equipped, it can unleash immense damage. In Arena Mode, it proves especially effective against teams with numerous summoners. The strategy emphasizes high damage output, swiftly eliminating the main attackers and healers of an opposing team before they retaliate. GingerBrave takes on tanking responsibilities within the team, though there’s no healer present; this means battles should be concluded swiftly to ensure success. While versatile against most opponents, it may face challenges when up against high-sustain compositions.
As a gamer, I’ve got two crucial aspects to keep in mind for this team setup to shine. First off, it’s essential that the buff from the Librarian’s Enchanted Robes treasure is active on Kumiho and Caramel Arrow. To make this happen, these two characters should have the fastest and second-fastest attack speeds within our squad.
The other key factor is selecting the right toppings. Caramel Arrow, Dark Cacao, and Sea Fairy need to be loaded with full Searing Raspberry Toppings for maximum damage potential. Kumiho thrives more on cooldown reduction, while GingerBrave should sport Solid Almond to aid in damage mitigation.
