Summary
- The Shroomie Shenanigans event returns after three years in Cookie Run: Kingdom’s Error Busters update.
- Fans can transform Cookies with magical mushrooms, unlocking new avatars and April Fools stories.
The highly anticipated April Fools event from Cookie Run: Kingdom has officially been included in the Error Busters Season 2 update. This is exciting news for devoted Cookie Run: Kingdom enthusiasts, as it’s been nearly three years since they could join in on this time-limited activity.
About a year after the release of Cookie Run: Kingdom, the game developers rolled out an imaginative limited-time event called Shroomie Shenanigans. In this exciting adventure, I, along with other players, had the chance to feed magical mushrooms to my favorite Cookies to change their appearances. Each Cookie received a unique post-munchkin avatar, often inspired by anime styles—something that fans really seemed to enjoy. The problem was that this event didn’t return for more fun, despite many of us asking for it. But now, the developers have confirmed its long-awaited comeback!
Approximately three years following the initial Shroomie Shenanigans incident, the eagerly anticipated sequel, Cookie Run: Kingdom, is now ready for launch, revisiting this popular event. In a recent YouTube broadcast on the game’s official channel, characters Wedding Cake and Black Forest accidentally discover an enigmatic mushroom, paving the way for the official unveiling of the upcoming event. The next installment of the Shroomie Shenanigans is scheduled to commence on March 26, 2025. This exciting development enables players to access transformation spells from within the character level-up menu of Cookie Run: Kingdom. In addition to new avatars, each Cookie will receive a unique April Fools Day storyline that can be completed for extra rewards.
Cookie Run: Kingdom Brings Back the Shroomie Shenanigans Event
One intriguing aspect in the promotional video for the upcoming event is the vague silhouette of Wedding Cake and Black Forest Cookies towards the end, sparking speculation among fans about what their revamped characters will appear like. These characters have garnered a significant fan base, as demonstrated by the enthusiasm shown by players regarding Black Forest Cookie being a guaranteed attraction. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait too much longer to catch a glimpse of these new character models, as the event is fast approaching.
At the Shroomie Shenanigans event, all characters released since 2022 can acquire new appearances. This means popular Cookies such as Shadow Milk are able to partake in the enchantment of colorful mushrooms. As per the latest update, previously showcased Cookies will only need one Rainbow Shroomie for a transformation, whereas the recently added ones require two. It’s also worth mentioning that these alternative looks will no longer be available once the event is over. Furthermore, if players don’t prefer a Cookie’s alternate avatar, they can easily disable it from the character advancement menu.
