Coolest Gaming LEGO Sets That Will Empty Your Wallet

LEGO has been a beloved toy for over 70 years, becoming a classic part of childhood for generations. Video games have achieved similar widespread popularity in just the last two decades, and are now more accessible than ever. With so many people enjoying both LEGO and gaming, it’s no surprise that LEGO sets based on video games are common and here to stay.

You can find affordable LEGO minifigures or small sets without spending a lot of money. But if you’re after the larger, more impressive sets, expect to pay a premium. Sometimes, LEGO sets based on video games actually cost more than the game itself – and that’s even considering today’s high game prices. LEGO can’t even compete with the costs of in-game purchases, though!

Here are some stunning LEGO sets designed for gamers – they definitely come with a high price tag, but the quality might make them worth the investment. I’ll also share a sneak peek at a couple of LEGO sets planned for release in 2026, so you can see what’s on the horizon.

As a huge LEGO and cinema fan, I thought I’d share some of the coolest gaming-themed LEGO sets out there. Instead of just focusing on the most expensive ones, I’m going to show you a variety, starting with the pricier options and then moving down to more affordable builds. That way, there’s something for every budget!

Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise Pokemon LEGO Set

Pokemon LEGO Set Price: $649.99

  • Release Date: February 27, 2026
  • Number of Pieces: 6838

As a huge Pokémon fan, I was so excited to hear about LEGO’s partnership with Pokémon! It’s going to last all the way through 2026, and they’re promising some really cool sets and figures. The first sets are coming out on February 27th, and you can get a Pikachu with a Poké Ball, or just Eevee on its own. The Pikachu set is $199.99, and Eevee is $99.99. And honestly, as someone who’s loved Eevee since the very first Pokémon games, I’m especially thrilled they’re releasing a set of it!

While the new LEGO sets are exciting, the real standout collaboration is the Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise set. It’s one of the most impressive sets available, second only to a couple of larger Star Wars builds in terms of size and complexity. This set beautifully recreates the original three starter Pokémon from the first generation of games, with incredible detail, bright colors, and the ability to pose each Pokémon individually. You can even separate Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise to display them as separate, large figures.

PAC-MAN Arcade Cabinet LEGO Set

PAC-MAN LEGO Set Price: $269.99

  • Release Date: June 4, 2023
  • Number of Pieces: 2651

This LEGO set is a nostalgic treat for fans of the classic PAC-MAN game. Instead of simply creating a PAC-MAN character, LEGO built a detailed arcade machine! It even features a moving chase mechanism that recreates the game’s action – though you can’t actually play the game on it. It’s clear this set was designed with a lot of care and a true appreciation for the iconic game.

The cabinet is the centerpiece of this set, but it also includes a fun little scene of a character enjoying the game at an arcade. Plus, you get a separate display featuring PAC-MAN, Blinky, and Clyde. The Blinky and Clyde minifigures are designed to rotate, letting you show them reacting in panic when PAC-MAN spots them.

Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle Zelda LEGO Set

Zelda LEGO Set Price: $129.99

  • Release Date: March 1, 2026
  • Number of Pieces: 1003

Let’s talk about some great The Legend of Zelda LEGO sets! While the upcoming Great Deku Tree set based on Breath of the Wild will be even bigger and more expensive, I chose this Ocarina of Time LEGO set because it recreates such a memorable moment from gaming. What makes this set really special is how customizable it is. You can arrange the characters and scenery to show either the scene before the battle with Ganondorf, or jump ahead to Link and Princess Zelda confronting Ganon.

As a huge Zelda fan, I have to say this set really impressed me, even though the overall scene isn’t massive. The figures are fantastic – Ganon especially is a standout piece and almost worth buying the set just for him! The ruined castle feels right at home without being too much, and thankfully, it wasn’t as complicated to build as some of the other sets I’ve tackled. If Ocarina of Time is a game you really love, this would be a fantastic display piece for your collection.

Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi LEGO Set

Mario & Yoshi LEGO Set Price: $129.99

  • Release Date: October 1, 2024
  • Number of Pieces: 1215

The Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi LEGO set, unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con in 2024, is special for a couple of reasons. It’s designed with a 2D style to honor the original game’s look. Also, this Super Mario LEGO set is aimed at adults, which is relatively uncommon considering the partnership has released over 150 sets since 2020.

This collection is only available for a limited time – until July 2026 – so get yours while supplies last if you’re interested.

This set is remarkably tall, reaching 40 cm – much higher than other sets we’ve featured. For comparison, the LEGO Pokemon set is only 23 cm tall. Beyond its cool, pixelated design, this set is interactive. A handle makes it look like Yoshi is running, and a dial lets you change his expression by making his tongue pop out.

Fortnite Battle Bus With Characters LEGO Set

Fortnite Battle Bus LEGO Set Price: $99.99

  • Release Date: October 1, 2024
  • Number of Pieces: 954

Yes, there are a few LEGO sets based on Fortnite. The most elaborate is the Mecha Team Leader, costing $249.99, but the Battle Bus set is much cheaper and captures one of the game’s most recognizable images. The Battle Bus has been a key part of Fortnite’s battle royale mode—aside from a short time when players used surfboards—and this LEGO version beautifully recreates it with lots of detail.

This set includes a bus with a parachute, plus nine minifigures of popular, recognizable characters like Peely, Bomber, and Meowscles. You can put the figures inside the bus, or display them on their own.
