The Core Observer is a relatively easy boss to repeatedly defeat for loot. Whether you’re farming it for the weekly Moxxi’s Big Encore challenge or just curious about the rewards, we’ve got everything you need to know about this mechanical enemy. How to Find Core Observer & the Blacklime Bunker in Borderlands 4
Blacklime Bunker Walkthrough
You can find the Core Observer inside the Blacklime Bunker, which is located in The Howl of the Fadefields. To get into the Bunker, you’ll first need to finish the “One Fell Swoop” Main Mission. Once that’s done, go to the Bunker and use a Locust canister to open the door. You can find a canister by double-jumping from a ledge onto the central platform with the tree. There, you’ll find a Locust station where you can grab a canister and throw it at the door to get inside.

After entering the Bunker, go north and turn right at the first opportunity. Continue following the right wall, then turn left to enter a larger room. Inside, head north through the open doorway and stay to the left. Continue heading west, and you’ll need to crouch and wade through some water, squeezing past low pipes to reach the lower level. Once there, keep going west for a swim in cold water. Take the left path (heading south) to reach the Vending Machines before facing the Core Observer boss. You can then start the fight by paying either 40,000 Cash or 100 Eridium (Eridium is only required if the Core Observer is the Moxxi’s Big Encore boss for that week).

The Core Observer is a big, flying enemy that attacks with electric shots which quickly deplete your shields. These shots aren’t very fast, so dodging them by moving around is key. This boss has three layers of health: a shield, then armor, and finally another shield. We suggest using weapons that inflict Shock or Cryo damage, as they work particularly well against it.
Besides the Core Observer’s main cannon, the only other threat is a barrage of grenades it launches. You can destroy these grenades mid-air before they hit you. For collecting resources, any weapon will work fine, so choose what best suits your character’s build.
