Corsair Is Buying Sim Racing Peripheral Company Fanatec

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that this Corsair-Fanatec deal is music to my ears! For years, I’ve been yearning for a more immersive and realistic sim racing experience, and it seems like my prayers have finally been answered.

Following numerous rounds of discussions, Corsair is now poised to take over the sim racing equipment company, Fanatec. This news follows the initial disclosure in May about Corsair’s plans to provide temporary funding for Fanatec while both parties worked out the details of a potential acquisition deal.

Corsair’s CEO, Andy Paul, expressed his long-held appreciation for the Fanatec brand in a press release, sharing his enthusiasm about making these exceptional products accessible to a broader range of people. He emphasized their dedication to enhancing and expanding Fanatec’s product offerings, enhancing customer service, and catering to the demands of the Sim Racing community. In the future, racing fans can anticipate an even immersive and authentic Sim Racing experience with Corsair.

Financial details on the acquisition were not revealed.

In relation to the acquisition, Corsair plans to put substantial funds into strengthening the brand, much like how they’ve handled previous acquisitions of well-known brands such as Elgato, Origin PC, and SCUF Gaming. The Fanatec name is expected to persist.

The purchase of Fanatec also includes all employees at former owner Endor AG who worked on the Fanatec product. Headquarters of Fanatec will remain in Landshut, Germany.

According to Endor AG CEO Andres Ruff, Corsair shares Fanatec’s enthusiasm for innovative ideas, superior quality, and ongoing advancement. This partnership will provide Fanatec additional avenues to expand their product line and strengthen their collaboration with the expanding Sim Racing community.
