Counter-Strike 2 Premier Season 2 Goes Live With Map Swap, Rifle Changes

Following the conclusion of Counter-Strike 2 Premier Season 1 a week ago, Valve has now launched Season 2. Unlike its predecessor, Season 2 won’t run as long; however, CS2 players should brace themselves for exciting map pool modifications and adjustments to rifles, a much-anticipated change.

Get your buddies and get into the Premier queue, the newest season of Counter-Strike 2 is now live.

CS2 Premier Season 2 Patch Notes

With the start of CS2 Premier Season 2, the active duty map rotation will incorporate Train while replacing Vertigo. Train has made its comeback in CS2 and its re-entry to Counter-Strike was marked by November, featuring numerous layout alterations, a fresh visual overhaul, and even some pleasing rain effects. Despite being new, Vertigo has been losing favor among professional players, yet so far, there have been no tournaments at the top tier level where Train has been chosen instead.

Two significant updates have been implemented on rifles:

1. The price of the M4A4 has been reduced to match that of its counterpart, the M4A1-S, at $2900. Both M4 models have garnered popularity among players, with some favoring the controlled spray of the silenced M4A1-S, while others prefer the damage and larger magazine of the M4A4. Now, cost won’t be a deciding factor.

2. The FAMAS has undergone a price reduction to $1,950 and an improvement in its accuracy.

Furthermore, both the AUG and SG were given an adjusted scope dot to enhance their performance at distance, whereas the MP9, MP5-SF, and MP7 have been equipped with reduced crouching accuracy, making them less suitable for long-range skirmishes. The updated notes also include minor UI tweaks and modifications to the Train map.

Regarding the Premier season, those who obtained a CS Rating during Season 1 will be rewarded with a commemorative item featuring comprehensive season statistics. To qualify for a medal in Season 2, players must update their CS Rating by winning ten Premier matches. The Season 2 finale will take place upon completion of the BLAST.tv Austin CS2 Major.
